We had dinner recently @ the Lodge dining room! It is beautifully appointed but the food is definitely lacking! My husband had the house special weiner schintchel! His 1st bite was a gristle and Boney with not much mystery sauce! The meal was not hot and the rolls were stale & cold! My dinner was the prochutto wrapped chicken thighs which was tasty but strange in its presentation! The Brussels sprouts were chewy! This place is definitely different from when I visited years ago! I hope thi... Read more

We have been to Trapp several times over the past few years and it never disappoints. Many Stowe restaurants are noisy and crowded with lots of drinking for the apres ski crowd. Not so Trapp. Here you will find a beautiful decor (esp for the holidays), great food (much locally sourced) and a refined atmosphere all of which make for a lovely evening. Venison is always a nice treat but even the chicken special the other night was great. Make a reservation to be safe and whatever you choose for foo... Read more

This is such a magnificent property situated on gorgeous rolling hills, shining white in the winter, then taking on a cheery vibrant green hue the rest of the year. I remember as a small child visiting the original lodge, which was every bit as breathtaking as this most recent iteration. The home-like atmosphere is staffed with the most polite people in all Vermont, and possibly the world LOL. I even had the honor of meeting the lady of the house, Maria when I was just that afore-mentioned y... Read more

Our dining experience was perfect. We were provided a private room for our gathering and the staff was very helpful in setting up this event. I was a bit surprised that we had only one server for such a large party but Brian did an incredible job a keeping everyone satisfied at every minute. There were no gaps in service and we were never sitting around waiting for someone to show up to order drinks or ask for anything. Not sure how one person did this but he was terrific. Everyone in our... Read more

Our family of 2 adults and 2 teen boys had a wonderful time in Stowe. We loved the lodge and the surroundings. The skiing was exhilarating, and the accommodations were cozy. We especially enjoyed the beer house restaurant. Can't wait to go back.

Staying at the Trapp Family Lodge was a great experience. The setting is absolutely beautiful and the views of the mountains are breathtaking. Our room had two full size beds and a balcony, which is perfect for a family of 4. The beds are super comfy and the rooms are very clean. Access to the cross country trails and snow shoes trails is included in your stay, but most everything else has an additional fee. We splurged and went on the horse and carriage ride, which the kids loved. The indoor po... Read more

Trapp Family Lodge has great amenities: pool, hot tub and an outdoor recreation center. Weekday stay are a great bargain! We really enjoyed both the lodge and the restaurants in Stowe! Harrison's and Cork Wine Bar are great finds!

Living in Florida where it never quite feels like Christmas. We (family) all met in Stowe a week before Christmas and had a picture perfect Winter Wonderland Weekend.. The Lodge looked like a Christmas Card Picture nestled in the snowy hills. We did some cross country skiing, sat by the fireplace and spent time together.. Guests and staff were friendly and welcoming Great weekend get away. .

We have had a guest house as a time share at the Trapp Family Lodge for over 30 years. I never tire of coming here. Today was a blue sky day with the sun shining on perfectly groomed white snow on many kilometers of XC ski trails. Today I had the special treat of skiing down to their newly built Bierhall. What a gorgeous facility! First class as we have always found Trapp to be. Gradually all of the guest houses are being redone, but even tho it will be several years before our unit is don... We traded our timeshare week for a week in one of the Guest Houses. There were black hairs on the the walls of the master bathroom and inside the shower, and toenail clippings on the bathroom floor when we got there. The temperature was in the 90's all week and there wasn't a single fan in the condo - we had the option of going up to the lodge ourselves to pick one up, or tipping someone to bring one out. We knew ahead of time that there were no washer/dryers in the condos, but weren't expect... Read more
