This hotel is in a re-purposed historical building and the aesthetics are amazing. My room, however was cramped and a little disfunctional. Access to the closet was almost impossible and the blinds on the windows were broken and could not be raised at all. Sleep quality was good, but the actual room was not well laid-out and lacking functional space to feel at home.

Hotel Indigo at the Alamo has only been a hotel for less than 10 years. This building began life as the Gibbs building, built in 1909 on the site of Sam Mavericks homestead, and before that this area was actually inside the northwest corner of the Alamo courtyard, its seen its share of history. So being a 6th generation Texan with family ties to fallen Alamo heroes and having a Goliad survivor as my great great grandpa, I had to stay here. At the dawn of the Alamo Ceremony held every year at daw... Read more

We picked the hotel due to the awesome location. Pros: super clean, nice and good customer service at the front desk. Amazing location, steps from the Alamo and Riverwalk. Comfortable beds. Cons: Rooms are a little cold feeling since it is an old hotel. Parking is $25 for valet and $20 for self park next door. No in/out privileges. We were there for happy hour on the river and then a concert at AT&T. We walked to dinner and then Uber to the concert. We got a GREAT rate on the room. So if t... Read more

We stayed in room 812 December 25th with a checkout on December 28th. The hotel is in a great location directly across the street from the Alamo and easy access to the Riverwalk. The hotel is also very charming with keeping of the original architecture, flooring, windowpanes, and other details. My only issue with this hotel was not receiving any housecleaning on the day before our checkout. The housekeeper was seen next door to our room and we quickly ran in and left so she could clean up our room... Read more

We usually select hotels more on the modern side . However when a saw the reviews on this hotel and the decent rates we decided to book. The Indigo Alamo is in a great location. Right across from the historic Mission. It is in close proximity tithe mall and Riverwalk . Our room was an oversize king. Nicely decorated, clean with original wooden floors dating back to 1909. There is coffee and tea available in the room. There is no mini fridge or safe. The bathroom is tight but the shower was grea... Read more

Got this hotel off of hotwire thru a special. Very well located about a block away from the Alamo. Allows up to 4 adults in a room as well. Got it for around $100 a night which is a great deal for downtown San Antonio.

Second time staying here, I really appreciate the nice clean rooms and friendly staff. Asked for the Alamo view and we were set up. Parking lot is next door. 20 per day, cheaper than valet. River walk is close by, restaurants abound. We had a good time walking around the city. The river walk has nice Christmas decorations. We wanted to ride the boat but I guess they shut down because of the weather being so cold.

The hotel is literally across from the Alamo. We got upgraded to a suite on the top floor and from the corner window we could see the Alamo and the crowd clearly. As this Gibbs building is a historical landmark at 100 years old, the rooms do have some quirks with odd corners. For example, our toilet was at an angle not parallel to the sink, due to the layout of the room. Functionally it's no issues, just different, which I joked is part of the charms of historical buildings. The kingbed was comf... Read more

Nothing spectacular about this place. As another reviewer noted, the lobby smells like burned toast. The "bistro" is not a bistro. Budweiser beer and pastries. I called ahead of time to inquire about pet fees. The receptionist quoted me a price of a $25.00 pet deposit in total. Upon arrival, I was charged $75.00 since the Alamo Indigo is a historic landmark. Really? Upon check-in the front desk informed me that there was an ice machine on my floor. It was put if service the entire time. Plus,... Read more

The main reason we keep coming back is the great location. It's right across the street from the Alamo and only a couple of blocks to walk to the Riverwalk action. This location is a renovated old historical building with partial interior remaining. We enjoy the location and history. A problem we have encountered on each visit is the restaurant smell as you enter the historic lobby. The smell has never been pleasing. The smell on this trip was burnt bread or burnt pizza. Some visitors may enjoy ... Read more
