We came to Fripp Island as Mr. and Mrs. Claus and found a wonderful Resort. It is a mixture of vacationers and residents. We stayed in Captain John Fripp villas and had a beautiful place. Deer roamed the area at dusk making it as much a nature preserve. We have discussed brining family next time, especially if invited back for next Christmas. The staff was wonderful and activities department keep guest entertained.

I've been coming to Fripp Island every year since 1975 when my dad found a small ad in a golf magazine (only way to find things then!). Now come with extended family and children. Fripp is quiet and laid back. That's why we like it. No stoplights, spotty internet but lots of lowcountry charm. Walk the beach, play tennis or golf, fly kites, bike, or sit and read a book. Three restaurants on island, but plenty off island. Beaufort is 25 minutes away and full of Southern charm. While I like to bra... Read more

Been through 6 East Coast Hurricanes. Never seen so many untouched houses and so many downed trees and debris lining every street. Sawgrass boardwalk (Foot/Bike path) gone. Sawgrass Crab Dock gone. Hunting Island fishing pier. Partially gone but closed until 2017. Been going to Fripp since 2012 and love it. It looks like it will be 6 to 8 months before the clean up is almost back to normal.

We have been coming to Fripp Island for almost 20 years. Our children have many wonderful memories of coming to Fripp at different ages. Now all out of college and young professionals in their 20's, they still look forward to coming to Fripp. Truthfully, my opinion is Fripp Island summer programming is designed for much younger children and families, but it is the perfect island for all of it. I like the fact that there are not many restaurants or shopping on the island, we shop at the groce... Read more

When my family started coming to Fripp over 30 years ago, it was magical. Not many people knew about it and it was mostly residential. There was a nice beach club and a few pools, and that was enough. Now the roads are clogged with golf carts and it is extremely "resort-y," full of rules like carrying your amenity cards with you everywhere you go and feeling like a trespasser if you forgot your card back at the house (seriously, there were huge bouncer-type guys guarding the entrances to pool ... You truly feel like you stepped into another world when crossing the bridge onto Fripp Island. Wildlife is so abundant. Mosquitos are quite abundant toward dusk. Have drivers license ready when approaching gate house.

We had a family emergency arise and prevent us from going on our Fripp Island vacation. We called the management company within 30 days of our arrival in the hopes that they would be able to help us out. Please understand, their cancellation policy is no refund within 45 days. I know it is asking a lot for some flexibility in today's day and age, but we just wanted to get a credit to use at another time. The Management of Fripp finally gave us our best option, a credit to use, before the end... Read more

We stayed in a large beach house on north end of island. House was big, beach front, spectacular views. Unfortunately it was also run down and resort maintenance did not fix our broken appliances. Island is nice, lots of green spaces and wide beaches. But amenities are mediocre at best. Only "nice" restaurant is open weekends only, other Boathouse restaurant is fine but boring. No other dining options on the island which means that a week-long visit either requires cooking or fast food. Activit... Read more

Fripp Island was spectacular!!! The beaches were clean, spacious and free of crowds. The sand was fine and the waves were perfect for boogie boarding. We loved riding the golf cart around the island. The deer were plentiful as well as the large variety of birds. We also saw several alligators and Dolphins. This was such a perfect vacation for our family.
