Nestled between two highways, each with three lanes, the location is a shocker. Police sirens all night, air whistling through the gaps in the window frame and the A/C had to be turned off as it was too loud. The earplugs in the sparse vanity essentials should have been the wake up call. Why here?, I hear you ask, it was late and we'd travelled all day and, well, you know the rest. The two double beds were quite comfortable with clean linen. Small TV, bar fridge, table and chairs and some furnit... Read more

Stayed at this hotel, for 4 nights, during the week. Great location, once you figure the roads out of the place. The rooms were nice, and the staff always at the desk to help. Pretty decent views, from all over the place, with the pool area, nice for sunrises. Parking lot was well lighted, and a safe place, I felt. Very quite rooms at night were a plus also. All in all, I would stay again, next visit.

I initially made the reservation and planned to use my AARP discount. As it turned out while checking in, the front desk (Anne Clark) advised we may qualify for the hospital discount since I had brought a family member to Charleston for surgery. Totally impressed by not only the professionalism but friendliness that Anne greeted us with (not to mention her assistance with getting a better rate). The hotel is not new and flashy but the location is perfect and totally safe. Stay here!!! You w... Read more

This hotel is located directly in the middle of 17 when going into the city of Charleston. This hotel is one of my favorites to come to because it is cheap, has an excellent bar and grille, and is very accessible. I come to the city regularly and this is where I stay most often. If you are okay with being out of the city this is the place to stay. The only downfall is having to get in and out because it is literally on 17, however you do not hear the traffic whatsoever. It's overall a great hote... Read more

Overall, the hotel was good, particularly the staff. Not terribly expensive as it is located before you hit the bridge to the historic downtown, yet is located (looks like it was literally built on a swamp, as evidenced by the surrounding terrain) with excellent views of the bay and the city. The top floor restaurant (which I believe wears a few hats throughout the day...Simple Breakfast buffet, traditional Lunch, Lounge, etc) has a spectacular view of the bay and the food isn't overpriced and t... We were in Charleston to start a inland waterway cruise but I ended up staying here due to my husband having a stroke the night before the cruise. The American Cruise Line made the reservation for me. Every single staff person I met was so very helpful, they even had a wheelchair for use when he was discharged! The front desk, the shuttle drivers, the restaurant & house staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Hotel was clean and even tho' they had a New Years Eve party it was quiet! Th... Read more

Very reasonably priced for a solid hotel near downtown Charleston. The hotel offers a free shuttle to and from town every couple hours from 7:30am-9:30pm, making for a stress free commute. With that stated, the area immediately surrounding the hotel (it is situated between a divided highway) is hectic. I had originally planned to run to the historic district from the hotel, but I soon turned back because of heavy traffic and minimal pedestrian space to do so safely or enjoyably. As far as insi... I was greeted by Kailyn and Anne who were very nice. They got me checked. The lobby was cold due to the temp drop and the cold air coming off the water through the sliding glass door. they need revolving doors or a redesign of the building. It has nothing to do with the staff who were great and helpful, especially, ANNE! The other staff members who helped me understand the hotel and Charleston were Amanda Carter,Don Singletary,Britoee,Tickc,Jenn,Jamie, costc, josh, j>mcint,Jermaine and Na' Dene. ... Read more

This hotel probably has the best "distance to downtown/price value" ratio in Charleston. If you are the type to be out all day/all night, go back to the hotel, sleep, wake up, repeat, then this is the place for you. A quick Uber to downtown, or a quick drive to James Island beaches, this is the place. Not fancy or posh, but all the amenities that most travelers would need. Btw, dont wait for the shuttle, Uber/Lyft are very cheap down here.

This hotel is more of a novelty. Each room is shaped like a piece of pie. If you get a suite--surprise! It's two pieces of pie without the wall down the middle! The view is pretty spectacular over the water, especially in the evening. However, you don't find out till you get into your room that all of the balcony doors in the hotel are permanently locked so that you can't get on the balcony. Safety precaution, I suppose. Staff was friendly enough. Hotel is older, and the bathroom in our suite wa... Read more
