My friend and I stayed in one of the apts on the ground floor near an alley way. That alone should have been a clue but it had space and was cheap and they would allow my Chihuahua to come and stay there. I did not see it prior to coming dow, trusted my friend to handle it and after lugging tons of my stuff in the door including the dog and all his stuff I was horrified. The place looked like it had just been constructed out of plywood the night before and not finished. There was no heat and it ... Read more

We spent Sept. 9th - 11th here. Somewhat quirky hotel, but it is 120 years old. Our room (11) was clean with a medium size refrigerator and a full bathroom. We were very pleasantly surprised to find our rate included the continental breakfast. I thought that was only available June through August. It was very nice with fresh fruit, muffins, bagels and cereal. We were comfortable with our 8 year old going downstairs to use the microwave at night. Very friendly guests and the manager was v... Functional air conditioning, no bedbugs. Here end the commendations. And now for the rest. No I was not expecting the Waldorf Astoria, but I was certainly expecting more than what awaited me at the Blue Water Inn in Ocean City, NJ upon my arrival yesterday. DO NOT be taken in by the photographs (I was), which give the impression of the rooms being far more spacious than they actually are. These lodgings are beyond cheap; they are rock-bottom. The room in which I stayed was more of a cell t... Read more

My boyfriend and I were very excited to go to Ocean City. While the hotel is important, we were looking forward to the beach, boardwalk, and minigolf. What we needed was an affordable place to sleep, a shower with hot water, a toilet, and air conditioning, all hopefully within walking distance of the beach. This hotel met and even exceeded that. My biggest issue was the shower. When you're at the beach, having a good shower is imperative. It's a small shower with a stubborn showerhead. It did th... Read more

We took our kids for a week, best decision ever. The kids loved the pool, there is even a grill by the pool that guests can use to cook their food which was amazing when you have kids who get hungry often. The hotel was nice and quiet at night, clean, and super close to the boardwalk (2-3 blocks?). There were so many little restaurants and icecream places in the area and the surrey and bike rental was literally right around the corner. The staff was very friendly even with the kids and was helpf... Read more

This is a nice place to stay just for a day or 2. Right down the street is the boardwalk and there are also a lot of cool places to eat near it. The beds are comfortable and the workers are really nice. So, this is a nice place to stay for 1 or 2 nights if you don't have a beach house in Ocean City!

This is by far the absolute worst place my family and I have ever stayed. The Manager "Tom" was very rude. I was burned by the water in the shower because they fail to inform you that the water system is set up like an old house, if you are showering and someone in ANY OF THE OTHER ROOMS flushes a toilet or uses the water for any reason it messes with your water. We stayed for 2 nights and heard nothing but complaints from other guests. The place is dirty, there was toothpaste all over the air c... Read more

The good: Close to the beach and the boardwalk Close to several restaurants Quiet Outside porch is fine for hanging out. Front desk folks were friendly. The bad: Very old and pretty dirty. They could really use a vacuum a little more. Bring a sleep mask. Only small blinds on the window so it was perfectly light in the room at 6:30 am. The only evidence there was a cleaning staff was the envelope asking for a tip. It takes a good 5-10 min to get hot water to the third floor. Wi-Fi service is poo... Read more

Do not stay here!!! You would be better off staying in a tent. We've stayed here twice, both times because the price was cheap, it is NOT worth it. The management is rude and there are people constantly drinking and making noise. The rooms were disgusting and had clearly not been cleaned as our beds were filled with sand. Do not stay here. To give you an idea of the kind of place it is, high schools host their after prom here because it is so cheap and no one enforces any rules
