Usually stay next door at the Residence but as it was fully booked, stayed here instead. Excellent staff, room was very good. Did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. Nice to have a room with a balcony even in the middle of a Michigan winter. Will stay here again. Good WiFi.

This is a nice Marriott property in a very convenient location. If you're familiar with Marriott then this place will be very familiar to you. If it wasn't for the staff, I'd be giving this a four or five star rating. As it was, our experience was a 3-star rating at best. There was an issue with our reservation. It may have been our fault, it may have been their fault, and it may have been Marriott.com's fault. Regardless, the 18 year-old kid behind the counter was less than helpful. Sh... Read more

I stayed here really just for the location and pool (I'm a lap swimmer). Generally this place is in need of rennovation - worn down and old looking. Right now lobby was torn up - doing some construction. And room was HOT HOT HOT. Room temp about 78. Had a terrible night's sleep. The cooling unit was down - cannot open windows. (there was an additional negative of a midnight fake fire alarm...which happens once in a while - but did not help my disposition). What I was most disappointed wi... Read more

I was pleasantly surprised by every employee I came across during my stay here for a seminar. Everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming. My second day, I had the pleasure of meeting Marcus, Ari, and Veronica. Marcus and Ari were very accommodating for our large group lunch orders and making sure we had everything we needed. Veronica, well, I have never met a nicer woman who just seems to thoroughly enjoy/appreciate her job and everyone she meets. I couldn't help but be in a good mood aroun... Read more

I stayed here on business. Unfortunately, I picked a weekend when the hotel -- to my surprise -- was taken over by sports teams. Imagine dozens and dozens of young kids running throughout the hotel at all hours. Endless noises. Parents who couldn't care less. You get the idea. I'm told by staff this is a regular weekend thing. While staff tried to keep calm, they were clearly overwhelmed. During dinner, waitresses and bartenders were YELLING "no running" at kids from 10 or 15 feet away -- all ... Read more

We booked this property for three nights during the Thanksgiving Holiday, while visiting family in the Berkley area. First night was great. Day two was a totally different story. Day two brought 10 floors of middle school/high school hockey players and their parents who did not know how or care to control their children. Running, screaming and actually playing hockey in the hallways on every floor. When I complained, the front desk staff made the manager aware of the situation (he looked no... Read more

The hotel is no surprise. It is a Marriott. It has all the amenities you expect. Pool, fitness, bar,, restaurant. The rooms are spacious. The bed is comfortable. Internet is good. Up to 6 devices on one contract. It is not a very modern stylish hotel but serves the needs of a traveller. The air conditioning works very quiet.

I had a conference in Detroit and my company decided to put us up at Marriott Auburn Hills because they had the rooms, restaurants and conference room all in one place. I am glad they did. Top notch service from check in to our catered luncheons, to check out. Parkside Grill was awesome right in the lobby. Everything you wanted was right there. For 3 days we never left hotel. Hats off to the staff.
