I think I've only ever given one hotel a "poor" rating before, but here's why the Bethesda North Marriott got one. Firstly, I've stayed here twice, all positive, and the change in my experience was very dramatic. My room had torn, tattered curtains (see photo) and they've introduced a "hand-delivered" option for room service which is really a very poor substitute for what was offered before. My breakfast arrived in a bag, with a bagel so long microwaved it had gone hard in places, with a rubbery... Read more

This hotel is only 0.3 miles from the train and bus station. We found the subway system easy to use and lots of maps for assistance. This hotel is a conference hotel and also just a really nice place to stay. The rooms were clean, and of a good size. The restaurant has a great buffet breakfast and all the meals I had there were good. The staff members were fantastic, and just a phone call away. I would say that this is a classy place and I would recommend it to any traveler. This was a bu... Read more

This is my first stay at this property in north Bethesda. Convenient location, as it is directly across the street from the metro, an easy 1 block walk. Check in was easy and smooth. I arrived a few hours early, in hopes that my room would be ready and much to my surprise, it indeed was. The front desk had complimentary apples, which was nice after a long trip. The lobby is expansive and full of spaces to sit. Complimentary daily newspapers and tea--very nice. The room was visually nice, smelt c... Read more

We were supposed to stay here 2 nights, but after encountering an issue with the hotel after the first night, we ended up checking out the next morning. When we checked in the first night, the man was very nice and gave us 2 king rooms up on the 10th floor. (Rooms 1027 & 1029) The rooms were very nice and the bed was very comfortable. Then the second morning, we encountered issues with the property. On the way down to breakfast, I was hit in the face by a strong lemony air freshener smell, (same... Read more

I went to a conference which was held at this hotel. The rooms were clean and the event which was held in the ballroom was nicely done. I was traveling with my daughter and there was a mixup in the reservation so that we were both staying in the same room instead of separate rooms with the hotel being sold out. Would have enjoyed stay more if we had separate rooms as it was a bit cramped with the two of us. For the price point it was very good.

On a scale of 1 to 10, this hotel is a 20. Clean and superb. The room was very spacious, with plenty of pillows. 5 per bed to be exact. Coffee maker with coffee and tea, a mini refrigerator, complementary bottles (2) of water. This hotel is near the metro, shopping and food. Location is superb.

I was visiting family and stayed for four nights. Check-in took longer than expected due to an issue with Expedia. I am not sure what exactly the issue was, but it worked out eventually and they offered me complementary continental breakfast which was nice. The room was comfortable and clean. There was a cozy chair with an ottoman that was good for reading or watching TV, and a desk. The bathroom had a big counter with plenty of space. I liked the Starbucks in the lobby and the free newspaper. I... Read more

No free wifi is what makes me to give it only 3 stars. The other stuff is more or less OK. No outstanding stuff, not very bad stuff. In general a regular hotel. The conference center is pretty Ok too.

I really like this hotel. I had a very pleasant stay here for three nights recently. It didn't start off too well with a long line for check-in. No separate line for Marriott members. However, everything else about this hotel was very nice. Their executive lounge had fairly good food for breakfast as well as evening hour service. However, be punctual because all the food goes away at 7:30pm. They have toiletry on the shower wall for everyone to share. Still not used to this setup and som... Read more
