We had a clean comfortable room with two beds and plenty of space. The wi-fi was good. The breakfast was not exceptional but it had several good choices. The external posts have exposed rusting re-bars, but they are said to not be load-bearing. So the exterior does not look great in places, but the rooms are fine.

Honestly, I can't believe this hotel hasn't been closed down by the Codes Department of Crawfordsville! The exterior of the building is crumbling away. The upstairs walk ways were cracked to the point we were fearful they might collapse. The stairways were either closed or rusted so badly we thought they might collapse as well. The rooms were okay but everything was really old. When I turned on the shower the water was brown at first. In the conference room, the sheets of pealing paint wer... Read more

Traveling for less than 36 hours with 2 kids for an event in the area today. After driving 10 hours all we wanted to do was sleep. Upon check in at 1230an, the man complained how he worked 3 jobs & was overly exhausted. We were placed in room 251. No easy way to arrive on foot after parking due to a building being closed. Then no TV. Unplugged we thought. Nope, it simply didn't work. The room was hot. After 6 hours, the AC was still barely pumping cold air to cool off the room. It wasn't overly ... Read more

The managers, a brother combination, Ross and Gary Berquist, along with their employer, Choice Hotels have managed to let this formerly nice Holiday Inn go to seed. All of the exterior is crumbling and the rooms aren't much better. They even converted a nice hotel restaurant into a chicken wings eatery, so now instead of eating breakfast in a nice atmosphere with booths and tables, you eat at a tiny area near the front desk. Such a shame. There are much better 'choices' across the road with a so... Read more

Upon my original stay I was going to rate this as one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. However, upon staying at the Quality Inn in Lafayette, I now reserve that title for them. That'll be a separate review. This hotel is outdated, however it looks like they are doing some updating. The room itself wasn't terrible. The bed was comfortable, the wifi worked, and the tv had a decent selection of channels.

We travel at least 3x a year from Wisconsin to KY. The exterior, as many folks have expressed, is in terrible condition. Truly cannot image how to renovate without losing money. Our first few trips we felt the room was okay especially for the rate. Bed was comfortable and room was updated, though the bathroom was not. Last trip there were dead spiders, bugs in the bathroom that had obviously been there for a while. It appeared that it was not even vacuumed. We think that at the very least the ro... Read more

You can tell they are trying to renovate in certain areas. No pool available, which in hot July would have been nice. It reminds one of a Holiday Inn from the 1960-70's. The staff was very nice and genuinely want to please.

And youbget an updated room, it's ok for the $. I'm not a big fan of hotels with outside halls and room enteries, but I knew that when I booked. Read all the reviews about the remodeling going on and decided it was worth the risk. We did get an updated room and it was nice but it's still an old building. The exterior is literally crumbling. The restaurant is new, clean and food is ok. ...typical hotel lounge/bar food. We were there over Memorial Day for the Indy 500 and other hotels had... Read more

When checking in was advised our room was on 2nd floor and there is no elevator, I am on crutches and asked if I could me moved to the ground floor, the clerk said they have already been assigned and couldn't be changed, I asked to speak with a manager and was told he couldn't change it either. Stairway was old and worn out, the steel structure was all rusted out and flaking off onto the concrete, stucco on pillars was falling off. The room wasn't to bad, carpet was old and dirty, there was a ... Read more

The room was clean, comfortable, quiet and no lingering odors. As said in a previous comment be there before 8 if you want a breakfast selection. We were not the last to arrive but got the last of the eggs and sausage. Oatmeal and marshmallow cereal (3 containers) were all that was offered. English muffins, bagels and wheat bread for toast. Yogurt- 3 flavors. It looked like they had at least 12 rooms being completely redone hope they get to the outside soon.
