We travel to Key West every January to celebrate our wedding anniversary, having honeymooned here 34 years ago. We usually rotate among 2-3 different small, boutique hotels, and this year returned to The Gardens. This hotel was first recommended by close friends who also frequent Key West every spring and return to the Gardens year after year. The weather was absolutely spectacular the entire week (sunny, 77-80, and a slight breeze). Having seen the cottages being built two years ago during ... Read more

Upon arrival we were told where we could park our rental car until we got checked in and moved to one of 6 parking spots in the back. We were shown around the property and we stayed in Gardens 11 which was a lovely Tommy Bahama decorated room with a super comfortable king bed, mini fridge, and was relatively roomy. Everything was amazingly clean and beautiful and even though you're only a block off Duval St, it's very quiet and we never heard any street noise. We loved the wine room where you us... Read more

My husband and I arrived at The Gardens Hotel for a three night stay and immediately felt relaxed and in vacation mode. Of course, the glass of prosecco which was offered upon our arrival might have had something to do with this quick adjustment from city life. We were shown to our lovely room #15 which was spacious and had an additional seating area outside in the back as well as the lovely porch overlooking the fountain. I asked Joseph as he checked us in if the hotel had a heating pad. Within... Read more

On the fifth day...it rained. But this did not bother us a bit!!! The feeling of "home" is present here and weather is the last thing on your mind. A welcome flute of "bubbly" in hand, we toured the many comforts of this literal corner of Key West life...within walking distance of every place we wanted to visit. Cottage #2 was perfectly perfect. We were in KW for its annual Wine and Food Festival and all venues were only minutes away from the cottage door. Morning breakfast and eating a... Read more

Right in the heart of the city of Key West you can be on Duval Street, where all the action is, by walking half a block. Walk to Hemingway House, The Southernmost Point, the harbor with abundant boat rides and lots of great restaurants. Personal service in this small, boutique hotel. They will make reservations for activities and dining. We made a reservation for one night and stayed in a cottage. The hotel was so nice we wanted to stay another night and moved, willingly, to a room. Both were wo... Read more

We stayed in cottage #3 for one night. From what I recall, the hotel itself was built in the 1860s. It has the look and feel of a bygone era, yet all the modern amenities you'd expect in 2017 (i.e. wifi, flat screen TV, glass shower, etc.). All the main sites are within walking distance. Hemingway House is about 5 min.

We loved it here and already planning our return trip back to Key West to stay at the Gardens Hotel again. The staff Nancy, Joseph, James and everyone else are all so polite and friendly! The rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel itself is centrally located, easy walk to anywhere. Upon our arrival we were offered a glass of prosecco...perfect after a hectic day of travel!

Good sized unique rooms with nice decor. Cute little yard with a pool and great breakfast. Walking distance from everything yet quiet for sleep. Glass of bubbly on arrival and in general great staff. Key West's little gem if your are tired of large chain hotels.

Where do I start? We stayed for 4 nights and didn't want to leave. From start to finish it was perfection. The property is beautiful. We stayed in the Carriage House. We loved it so much we will definitely ask for the same room next visit. The private balcony was perfect for relaxing. After your day on Duval Street, it's like you have entered your tranquil oasis just blocks away. The check in and out process was easy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our drinks from the bar- b... Read more

We booked this hotel after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. Everything that was said was true. It is truly a gem in a great location (1 block from Duval st.). We arrived on Sunday night to a great jazz group playing in the patio. Grabbed a glass of wine and settled into a great couple of days. We stayed in the Eyebrow cottage and really enjoyed the quaintness and privacy of the cottage. The breakfast was first class, simple, but with the best scrambled eggs! We ate outside next to the p...
