We really liked the location of this hotel for it's proximity to the Smithsonian and the Newseum. The hotel was easy to find, and the parking garage was near by so you could park yourself (on I street). The elevators take you right to the lobby for check in. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and the bed, chairs, space , etc were very comfortable. Overall, the hotel was great. Why I didn't give it a 5 was because we could hear people talking in the next room as we ... Read more

I stayed one night with my friend. Upon entry to our room, I realized there was just one king bed. We called the front desk and they quickly got us a different room with two beds. The bell hop Teddy was so friendly, professional and helpful, and moved all of our stuff to the next room as well. We ate dinner at the Sports Bar (a great grass-fed ribeye steak done rare just perfect as I requested with broccolini, potato, butternut squash soup and some great salads with crab cakes) it really was ver... Stayed there during the March for Life and it was large enough to accommodate many groups traveling from all over the country. The exhibit area was incredible - and the rooms comfortable and clean. Great location and the staff helpful and friendly.

The Renaissance is the classy hotel by far. Not only are the attendants helpful, but everyone has style and grace, and in DC lately that is needed. The check in staff was by far superb. They are friendly, accommodating, and for those who don't like the DMV stiffness they are professional with a sense of reality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the room was more than what we could bargin for, especially with two couples staying in the suite. We never heard the couple even talking and the livin... Read more

Five of us made reservations at this hotel for the night of the Women's March (Jan 21, 2017). Although the room was expensive, it was better than so many other hotels in DC that weekend, which was also the inauguration weekend. The entire staff was incredible, from the parking attendant, to the front desk personnel, to the cleaning staff, etc. etc. Everyone was so warm and welcoming! We were exhausted when we arrived, and didn't know what to expect; however, we could not have done better. We... Read more

We stayed here for 3 nights during the inauguration and it was a good choice as well as paying for it with points so it did not cost me anything except $45/night to park the car we never saw while we were there! I don't know what rooms others stayed in but we were across the hall from a bank of elevators which had me worried from others comments about the noise levels. The beds were as comfortable as they could be, the bathroom was adequate for a father and son. We had not noise problems exce... Read more

This hotel has everything you would expect from the Renaissance. Comfortable and modern rooms, exceptional service and a bar with great drinks. The only drawback was the Executive Lounge for Marriott rewards members. It is an ample room but the breakfast that was served was deficient and very mundane. I felt I was having breakfast at the economy brand hotels of Marriott. Didn't even have an espresso machine.

Very nice facility. This hotel is impeccably clean - including meeting space, lobby, and the guest rooms. The lobby is very large with excellent seating capacity with numerous private areas to meet with friends, family or co-workers. The room was newly renovated and nicely appointed. Free Wi-fi worked well (though I had to make a special trip to front desk because no directions were given as to how to connect.) Wi-fi would be very pricey without Marriott rewards or a conference package. ... Read more

I've never before paid so much to receive so little. At $400/night, you will still not receive shampoo, conditioner, or any bottled water in your room. We called down for some toiletries and it took an hour for them to be brought to our room. Our room was also missing a "do not disturb" sign -- we had to ask a cleaning lady for one. The staff, from the front desk to the taxi stand, are extremely ambivalent about the guests -- they couldn't care less. No hospitality, no service. At the price we p... Read more

Stayed here while on assignment to cover Trump inauguration - was very happy with the room and the location. Comfortable king sized bed, nice recliner chair, big TV, mini fridge in room and nice chocolates left on pillow several nights in a row (likely for the Inauguration). Hotel has a Starbucks in the lobby (!!!) which is awesome and opened at 6am (very convenient) also an in-hotel small grocery store which some great food options (open late) and a standard gift shop as well. I also used the s... Read more
