I am a Marriott reward customer and have stayed at the Marriott in the US, Russia, Egypt ..etc. Upon arrival at the Marriott Wardman Park hotel in DC- near the zoo, I was asked if I minded being in a wheelchair accessible room. I said I did not until I went up and realized the room had not been renovated for a while and not on same level like the rest of the hotel - I am familiar with the hotel which I use for a bi-yearly business conference. I called to change the room and was told it was not p... Read more

APLU convention, about 1400folks. Convention facilities good. Food ok for large scale convention. Room was small, but clean and decent. Two double beds, not exactly what we wanted, but OK. Location convenient to Metro. Restaurants nearby. Easy walk to park and zoo.

I stayed here for a conference, but was reminded again why that's the only reason I come to this hotel. The location is great - great local restaurants within walking distance, and a Metro stop right outside. Beyond that, though, the rooms are tired, outdated, and a bit grungy. Breakfast is very expensive, and internet is spotty. Conference facilities are ok, which makes staying here bearable, but will be the only reason I come back unless there are major changes.

I stayed here for a conference and have a somewhat mixed review. The room was very comfortable and clean. It was also quiet. No complaints whatsoever about the room. The location is really good as well. It is right near a Metro stop and many good restaurants, and close to the zoo if you want to go there. The surrounding neighborhood is very nice. My only complaints are that is it sprawling, and the available food inside the hotel is somewhat expensive and just ho hum. To get a reasonable meal ... Read more

I am taking the time to write a review of this hotel in the hopes that it might save some people the misery of staying here. My choice of this hotel was based on work, so it was not really a choice at all. I will never, however, stay at this hotel again. It looks rather lovely from the outside but looks are deceiving. The rooms are incredibly outdated, lack any soundproofing whatsoever such that we could hear every person walking by in the hallway, opening and closing their doors, and conversati... Read more

First they don't have any sign outside for show . Or couple of sign on main Street. I wasn't sure if I was in right place until I reached there. Second, I spent 90mins struggling on the way, parking and marching in the big hotel. Turns out the show was very poor looking. I stayed for 15 mins and drive out of parking lot. They changed me $20 for parking. Enough is enough I'll never go there anymore.

The hotel is located in a lovely neighbourhood in a central location. However, the rooms have been renovated in a superficial manner that does not meet the standards one would expect for a conference hotel. New carpets and drapery could not disguise the fact that the wall coverings and bathroom needed a serious overhaul. The breakfast room was a mob scene where hours should be extended so guests do not feel so rushed and do not feel pressured to be there all at once. The lobby was spacious ... Read more

This hotel is located in the neighborhood of the zoo, with nearby access to jogging paths and parks. It is a colossal size with ample rooms for meetings and conferences. Conference food was quite good. However, the meeting areas downstairs have absolutely no cell signal (odd in an age where placing a cell repeater in a discrete area is so feasible). Rooms are comfortable. Access to the Metro is only a few steps away. I did see a small (but cute) mouse scampering across one of the meeting rooms... Read more

I've actually stayed here twice - both times for meetings that were held in the hotel. The location is great - near restaurants, the zoo and the train. That's where the positivity ends. Confused staff, Motel 6 beds, internet fees and $45 parking = no thanks.

I am Marriott Platinum. I had to stay at this hotel twice in one month, for two conferences. Both times I was upgraded but to rooms that probably wouldn't have sold at "full price." My overall sense is that this hotel knows they have a captive audience and little reason to please. The first upgrade was to a room right over the front door. Whistles all night with doormen calling cabs. You've heard about housekeepers not washing glassware...this happens here. They simply turned a used glass over... Read more
