GRILLED TO PERFECTION
Spencers is an on-site dining establishment,  is a cushy, relaxing restaurant that offers you breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Menu items offer flatbread pizza, pasta, and authentic angus beef steaks. It is an American style eatery that is sure to make you happy and satisfy your craving. Coppertop Cafe is off-site, and it is a cafeteria-style place to eat for the skier on the move. An assortment of wraps and salads along with burgers and sandwiches are grilled to your liking.

THINGS TO SEE AND DO:

  • Edwin Carter Museum -n award-winning museum that sheds light on a pioneer lured west by the Pike`s Peak Gold Rush in 1858-9. He reached the Blue River Valley in 1860.
  • Peak 8 Fun Park - Just because the snow melts, it doesn`t mean the mountain closes. In summer the Peak 8 Fun Park opens with a laundry list of made-for-thrills activities, including a big-air trampoline, climbing wall, mountain-bike park and the resort`s most celebrated warm weather attraction, the SuperSlide. Here you slide down a luge-like course on a sled at exhilarating speeds.
  • Hearthstone -One of Breck`s favorites is set in a restored 1886 Victorian. This beautiful kitchen churns out special dishes such as house-smoked trout, Colorado green beans wrapped in lamb bacon (we didn`t even know that existed), baked Brie, and prosciutto wrapped scallops, and those are just the starters. Entrees include ginger scallops, blackberry-glazed, granola-crusted elk steak, and cedar plank salmon. The three-course tasting menu is a reasonable $25. Dine in the oh-so-burgundy dining room or on the three tiered patios out front if the weather cooperates. Reservations recommended.
  • Ember - Great jazz on the sound system, strange glowing floral-art around the room and creative fusion on the plate. Apptizers include masa pizza (with chili sauce, curtido, avocado and manchega), pulled Kobe beef, warm walnut Brie, and lobster manicotti. Mains include coconut-glazed char with spaghetti squash, and soft-shell crab in lentil crust served with almond cous cous and curried pineapple hollandaise.
  • Breckenridge to Vail Bike Path - Summit County`s tremendous system of paved bike paths connects Breckenridge to the system`s hub in Frisco 11 miles away via a smooth rolling trail that parallels the Blue River. From Frisco you can hump the gorgeous Ten-Mile Canyon Trail through auto-free road-bike heaven over Vail Pass to Vail Village and Lionshead.

This place is a giant maze with four different buildings. I ran into folks who had been there for 3 days and still couldn't figure out how to get to point B from A. The ski in/out is a healthy walk from lodging to the Beaver Run lift. The resort has lockers but they are inadequate. They are not big enough for anything but skis and poles, and they are so tall and skinny that it's impossible to reach the hooks at the top of the locker. You can't leave your boots in the locker because, beside... Read more

My family and I spent a week at this resort. To start, location is very important when you have younger kids skiing. This resort is located at the base of peak 9 and you're able to walk out from the resort and get on the chair lift without having to pack everything up and get on a bus. The 1 bedroom condo was larger than I expected with enough room in the living area for a pack n play for my infant son. The resort can provide a high chair and crib upon request. The only down side was our condo o... Read more

We were a group of 10 and stayed in one of the penthouse rooms at Beaver Run Resort. There was plenty of room and the decor was beautiful. The view was gorgeous and we had a huge amount of snow. There were locker downstairs for all the equipment and the ski in/ski out was very convenient. We had someone come each night and start the fireplace. They were quick and efficient. The shuttle to town was a little slow but there were quite a few people riding that weekend. It was nice to ride to town an... Read more

The hotel is quite dated - it's a 60's era concrete monolith with lots of strange decour. That didn't really bother me and it actually added a little bit of charm - especially compared to much cheaper feeling lodgings I've seen at ski resorts. The walls are super solid so this made the hotel reasonably quiet - even with kids running around in the halls (shame!) The location was unbeatable and we found that Peak 9 was also the least crowded place to ski. Restaurants and bars were unremarkab... Read more

The front desk folks are exceptional. We arrived a little early and our room was not yet ready. That was no problem for the staff. They simply upgraded us to a suite that was ready! The room was lovely and spacious. We made the most of our time in the room and, of course, in Breck itself! We will certainly stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are skiing. This hotel is right in the middle of the action and close to all of the fun. Excellent experience!

We visited Breckenridge mid week with our family. This resort has individually owned rooms, so the updating and decorations vary greatly. Our room was upgraded except the tub and shower looked like the original 70-80's design. The resort itself is 4 building without enough parking for everyone in the garage. We choose to park in the garage b/c they were getting a ton of snow. We had to walk over a walkway and small flight of stairs plus 2 elevators to get to our room. The resort does NOT have... This property sits at the base of peak 9 and the access to skiing/snowboarding is perfect. The rooms I saw (a 2/2 condo and regular room) were a bit dated and the single room was on the small side. However the condo was nice and well worth the additional cost. There are options for kids or non skiers or after skiing, the beautiful indoor/outdoor pool and hot tubs which were very nice. The game room and put put area are also dated but perfectly fine. The resort staff were all very helpful and fri... Read more

We love this place, we come every year but this year but staff up the housekeeping!! Our room got serviced twice in the 6 nights we stayed. The poor housekeeping ladies came by at 8am asking if we wanted service... we are all getting ready for bed.. we already had to call and get towels, coffee, sugar, and take our trash out ourself!!!

The resort was clean and nice. Employees were friendly. The arcade was a bit run down, and a lot of games didn't work. The steak house had an awesome Thanksgiving Buffet. Close to shopping, skiing, and restaurants. The Deli inside the resort is a bit pricey.
