We are here for a pre-night before a cruise. I've started writing this 10 minutes after we checked in and I'll finish tomorrow when we check out. First, there appears to be a light bulb shortage here. Bulbs out in the entryway and bathroom. The only light by the bathroom mirror is an articulated lighted magnifier - which does not light up! The bathroom door is warped and does not close. The air conditioning controls don't appear to work. There is a puddle of water on the window sill - it rained... Read more

We stayed here one night pre cruise. If you are lucky enough to get a harbour view room you can watch your ship come in, it is that close to the port. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and modern. We would definitely stay here again.

I rate it poor due to value. The hotel is just not up to today's standards and charges 150 a night. The room was ok and the bath just backwards, can't find the light switch, its behind the door, couldn't stand at the bath vanity because the commode is right in front of it. Just a remade mess, it needs totally renovated. It was clean and convenent. The Free shuttle referenced in other reviews now costs 5-6 dollars.

We were pleasantly surprised to get an upgrade from King bed room to an executive suite. The location is ideal for a pre cruise stay since the cruise port is only 10 minutes away. The hotel charges $10 each for the shuttle. The restaurants are within walking distance is the Green Onion (dinner) and the Think Cafe (breakfast) which we both enjoyed.

This is a great hotel to stay at before a cruise. I would recommend that you request an end/corner room facing the harbor on the highest floor possible. There are only 10 floors in the hotel & the rooms that face the harbor end with 33 or 34 (ie 1033, 1034, 933, 934 etc. If you get to LAX a couple of nights before your cruise you can take a "Primetime" Shuttle ($17) (check Super Shuttle too for their price) to this hotel & the next day you can have lunch at the Acapulco Restaurant (good atmosphe... First the good. The beds are very comfortable, and I'm a total bed snob. I'd rank them in the top 10% of hotel beds. We had a king. The pillows were good too. The view was great. It rained terribly while we were there. We were on the top floor, and the ceiling started leaking. I reported it, and were very promptly moved to a different and much nicer room. We were very appreciative. The bad. The elevators. 2 of 4 worked. Sometimes the wait was long. The ones that did work were so ... Read more

Booked in for a couple of nights prior to cruise departure. Room was comfortable enough and quite spacious. Lifts were an issue - only 2 working and very slow and when everyone trying to check out at same time was a big problem. Restaurant service definitely average never seem to be enough staff on and takes for ages to receive meals. Though I must commend the staff on their friendly attitudes. Shuttle driver was in a hurry when loading and unloading and could have taken a bit more care wit... Read more

I stayed here with my partner but not through choice. I normally avoid IHG hotels for the very reasons I discovered again at this hotel. The hotel is tired, dated, unclean, and uncomfortable. The only saving grace and for what I have awarded the 1 star for, is the reception staff. They were friendly, extremely accommodating and went the extra mile to provide service recovery when enough was enough and we complained. As I mentioned the hotel is tired and dated; it desperately needs attention, r... Read more

The price of this hotel was reasonable and it was clean. We stayed here last night, 1/20/17. It was mostly quiet and our room overlooked the harbor so that was nice. The bathroom smelled bad from the minute we walked in. Eventually we figured out it was the sink drain. Pulled the drain closed when not in use and the smell went away but, not fun when brushing teeth, washing face, hands, etc. The bed was not at all comfortable. Neither my husband nor I got a great night's sleep in that bed and... Read more
