I stayed in room 1111, it was clean and roomy. The bathroom was grand, had both a bathtub and a small stand up shower. Lots of great toiletries, including Q tips and little bottles of water. Didn't really enjoy using their coffee pods machine, I think there are better ones out there. It was a comfortable place to stay, overall. Staff were friendly and helpful.

You feel good about the JW Marriot before you get to the desk. In the heart of the city and welcoming staff and ambience. The rooms here far surpass what is offered in many big establishments re spaciouness and amenity. There's no dodging around the bed here. It feels like it's been built with hospitality rather than economy in mind. Great restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Great bar area and brilliant location for many eating and walking spots. Thanks all!

This is a very nice, modern hotel in a fine location near Union Square. I was upgraded to a large suite, which was a clear plus. Service was quite good too. I had a meeting room as well. The room was fine, and the service, again, was very strong. I would happily return.

As others have said, you will hear the street noise no matter where. They were gracious enough to move us from the 13th to the highest floor corner room 20 or 21?), but we could still hear the ambulances and cars down below - windows are just way too thin. That being said, the concierge lounge is spacious and has great views; breakfast and snack options were plentiful and filling. The night snacks are worthy of meals (e.g. mushroom pappardelle pasta) and a high tech coffee machine and tea/water/... Read more

We had a great suite in the JW and loved just kicking around the room. We watched movies, relaxed and enjoyed the comfortable beds and quiet! The lobby is nice and the location is so convenient for shopping, dining and getting around. I love this place!

I can't say enough how warmly we were greeted by Cindy the Front desk manager. We were able to get our beautiful room ahead of time and we can't say enough how the staff bent over backward to make us feel welcome. I will be back!

After a week of Half Moon Bay and Napa, my wife and I were rounding out our honeymoon with Downtown San Francisco. We wanted to be close to everything, and chose the JW for its reputation and being a Marriott Elite member. I had an Executive King booked, and we were both ecstatic when the checkin agent upgraded us to the California Presidential Suite! This is how they retain business. We were only there for two nights, but what a way to end it! The room was almost laughably large for two peop... Read more

Arrived after a long journey on the Amtrak, coastal Starlight. Charming receptionist. Gave us an upgrade to a fabulous room on high with superb views. Star treatment. Fabulous room, very welcome. Great concierge lounge too with fabulous views. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Relaxing place. Outside near to Union Square & all the buzz of activities, cable car trolleys, everything. Made our stay delightful. Thank you.

I just went to JW for lunch while attending a conference. I walked up to sit at the bar for a quick lunch. I was informed that I had to buy a minimum of $100 in food and beverage to sit at the bar. Way to take care of your loyal guests... guess how many were at the bar - a number less than 1.
