What a ghastly place we stumbled upon here. I know SF is rather overpriced and decent accommodation here can cost more than, let's say London or NYC, but for $250 plus tax per night for a motel, we expected at least a decent size room. No such luck. Worst VFM ever! Our musty smelling room (despite booking a de-luxe version) was so small that we had to keep our luggage in the bathroom (which was more decent than the room). The TV did not work well, wifi was iffy and unreliable most of the time... Read more

We booked this at the last minute, but we were not disappointed. A regular motel just a short walk from Fisherman's Wharf. It was clean and more than adequate. Free and ample car parking is a bonus. If you're a light sleeper it might not be your bag as the motel is located on a busy street corner. One night we slept very well, the second night were disturbed by heavy street noises. But I expect that any hotel on this street has similar problems. Suffice to say, I would re-book if I were to re... Read more

Stayed here for 2 nights with s friend and booked last minute (2 hours prior to arriving) Free parking a plus considering it's so expensive in San Fran, check in was quick and really nice and locations is great. Rooms are spacious with large bathrooms although dated and under sheets on bed was soiled, we had to get up early on morning at 4:30am and when we went out there was a homeless guy sleeping on the stairs so we just took the lift. Apart from the soiled sheets it is what it is, cheap and... Read more

We have stayed here twice already and I believe we will stay again. This place has a great location and a free parking, which is basically all you can ask for in San Francisco. The rooms are not very big, but they are nice and clean. It is just right on a very crowded street, so it can get pretty loud at times. We didn't find this a big problem, however. I totally recommend it.

It is a hotel with few rooms, therefore, quiet, although the rooms facing the Lombard Street can be a bit noisy but nothing that prevents sleep, ...refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, spacious bathroom, bed a bit hard but bearable and good pillows. Cleanliness as you would expect in this type of establishment... An hotel to take a shower and sleep after an active day. tip; parking can be a little difficult in this place, although it's free, so if you can avoid a rented car, can be better. an... Read more

As a family of six we really had trouble finding somewhere reasonably central that could fit us all and wasn't riduculously priced. We ended up with two rooms and a total of 3 beds. For 3 nights we paid over $900 There was one parking space left when we got there and we left our car there 3 days. Initial checkin was slow but the rooms looked OK. Over the course of our stay we found maintenance issues. My wifes bathtub plug would not stay inserted. My bathroom door would not shut. I reported... Read more

Upon arriving at the Francisco Bay Inn, we were treated with the utmost respect and generosity. The office staff was incredibly accommodating, extending discounted rates that far exceeded our expectations. Not only did we experience such extraordinary kindness with the booking, but we were also greeted with the warmest hospitality, leaving the office with maps for each of San Francisco's districts and locally crafted candies. The location was easy to access from the fisherman's wharf, union cen... Read more

The location near on Lombard near Van Ness was convenient. The rooms were basic and, on a Saturday night, received a lot of noise from the street. Fortunately, ear plugs were provided, although only one pair. Breakfast consisted of donuts, a few croissants, and instant coffee. We opted instead for the GOLO Cafe, a little hole in the wall with excellent breakfasts, only a block away on Lombard and Gough. Try to avoid the tandem parking here, it can be very inconvenient if you are on the insid... Read more
