One of the best hotels in the heart of Japan Town of San Francisco. Nice, clean, convenient, staff are friendly and professional. This my second stay in 15 months, I always enjoy my time here. Highly recommended. Thank you, Hotel Kabuki! Keeping up the good work.

Hotel Kabuki has been our go to hotel for several years. The staff is friendly and helpful, the views of the city are beautiful. The value for Sf is very good and it has many restaurants and places of interest near by. The Fillmore Auditorium is within walking distance and the reason we stay here. Thank you to the staff who always do their best to assist our group.

Hotel is currently undergoing some refurbishment, however this did not detract from my stay. Rooms are large, comfortable and very clean. Although situated about 1.75 miles from Union Sq, this is not a major problem as the centre can be easily reached by walking / cab / uber. Hotel location meant a quiet nights rest.

My car was damaged when in the hands of the valets. The hotel is refusing to pay for the damage. The valet gave a different story then what actually happened. The Asst. Operations Manager talked to us when we discovered the damage. We told him what happened, yet for some reason they told the insurance company that we parked our car in the lot, which we did not. Their story is completely different then what actually happened, yet the hotel insurance company shows no interests in talking to us. We... Read more

Stayed for 3 nights in June and wish we had payed slightly more to stay in Union Square. The staff were friendly and check in was quick and we were off to our room. It certainly felt like an old hotel, tight corridors and rooms felt like stepping back in time. The rooms felt dated, the carpets looked like they had never been changed. The bathroom was oddly set out, and you can hear whoever is downstairs or upstairs through the air vents. Then there was the rat problem...i appreciate there was on... Read more

Having spent considerably time in Japan, Hotel Kabuki reminds me of a very good average business hotel in many ways. The rooms (deluxe with a view) was simple and had a shared balcony. Given there was renovation going on, and the computer system was down, the hotel staff did the best they could to address the checking in and checking out. While I booked for 3 nights from the very beginning, the system was confused and split my reservations with different price points. The front desk was help... Read more

Had 3 nights at Kabuki which felt like forever. The reception area is clean and spacious, staff were helpful upon arrival. But the rooms were very dated and need some serious work and attention. Bathroom was very small also. The worst thing we saw were rats running through the seating area towards the restaurant. The hotel was going through renovations but the staff just laughed it off and blamed it on the on going work. I think i would rather pay a bit extra and stay near Union Square in future... Read more

We were very upset to find out when we checked-in that the hotel was undergoing construction. It was very loud in our room and it was a long process to get a room that was more suitable. It was sort of a travel nightmare - they tried to give me a room that had people already in it and the second room I tried to switch to was given away in the process! I would also like to point out that there isn't much of a lobby and there is no restaurant on the property, so don't expect to spend much time her... Read more

We've stayed here before, but it's been about 8 years. We did pre-check-in and check-in was fast and our room was ready when we arrived. The first front desk person did the job, but wasn't out of his way helpful. Luckily later help was great at answering questions we had. We had a really nice view west, and we enjoyed it. My son took pictures in the afternoon, sunset, and night pictures and got some great shots. We enjoyed shopping around Japantown. We also ate a late lunch and later enjo... Read more

Let me say that I and my Wife have stayed here a number of times before (and at other Joie de Vivre properties). You could say that we have been loyal customers. There is one reason that I didn't give a 1 star rating, and that was because of a front desk staffer named Adrian. He did his best and understands the meaning of hospitality. The other desk staff, not so much. We booked a reservation online, at the hotel's website. Or, I should more accurately say we TRIED to book a reservation, becau... Read more
