Stayed here with family over the weekend. The weekend rates are usually very reasonable as this hotel really caters to the business traveler during the week. I was a little surprised at how nice the inner courtyard of the hotel was. It had a beautiful pool area and made me regret not packing trunks so I could enjoy it. I did sit around the fire pit in the morning and evening a couple times. It was very pleasant to enjoy a cup of coffee while reading the news on my tablet. I was disappointed tha... Read more

Stayed 2 nights on a business trip. Hotel was comfortable, room AC worked great. Staff was friendly and professional. Great outdoor area to relax and enjoy a cigar and cocktail. Down side is no coffee until 6:30 am. Traveled from the east coast and waking up at 4:00 am, coffee would have been nice. Asked the attendant setting up for breakfast for coffee and the reply was they didnâ??t open until 6:30. Ended up going to Starbucks down the hill. $8.00 parking, unacceptable. Also the automatic ligh... Read more

DO NOT STAY HERE. The front desk staff and management are rude and the last time I stayed there, they had a major water issue which was not properly remediated and caused a nausea and headaches after my stay. I expressed concern to the front desk staff while I was staying there and they rudely laughed about it and said "ya, we try and leave a door open occasionally to let it air out." I wrote Marriott customer service and they pretended to act concerned and said they'd have the hotel contact me,... Read more

My wife and I spent last week - 10/7-10/14 - at this Courtyard for our visit to the area to see friends and family. It's the typical Courtyard with two wings of rooms, the usual Bistro in the lobby, and an outdoor pool to take advantage of the beautiful weather year round. Positives are the friendly and helpful staff, the pool, the convenient location north of the city but easy from which to get around and, most of all, the gas fire pit that makes for a relaxing time outside nightly. Negatives, ... Read more

We have 2 rooms and we are staying 4 nights for business and pleasure. Parking lot empty and they are not kind enough to let us park for free. It is $8 a night. We are also members of Marriott rewards. They could treat guests a little better, but itbis what it is I guess. Hotel is very clean and cute though

I am very disappointed and getting more upset by the poor quality of this hotel. We booked this hotel because of location to UCSD - easy parking and other amenities. At first, I thought the hotel was really nice. However, not soon after we got into the room we noticed that the tub was still dirty. When I called the front desk they apologized and sent housekeeping to re-clean the tub. Later the tub started to fill up with dirty soapy water which was GROSS! See pic!! I called the front desk a... We have stayed at many Courtyards (and other Marriott properties). This is my first negative review of one. The service was nice (front desk, the Bistro) in spite of how busy they were Labor Day weekend. The fatal flaw is the new system is the "automatic" light that comes on when you get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. EVERY time one gets up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night it comes ON and as a result, sometimes one doesn't really get back to sleep. Both my husba... Read more

The rooms were clean and service was excellent. The breakfast was decent; the coffee not so good. The grounds outside seemed like a good location for family with gas fireplace for night time gathering. The gym is decent. There is a small strip mall nearby with a Starbucks. It's good for a morning coffee before the business day starts.

I expect good things of Marriott. Sometimes they're just too standard - the Residence Inn in one place is just like 20 others, and the same with Courtyards. The building is standard but the staff makes the difference. I'd recommend this Courtyard. The staff was friendly and responsive. Room and bathroom were clean. Room was quiet at night. Parking is handy and free. Restaurants are not far away. Good place.

Convenient to much of the north end of SD. Near La Jolla, Scripps, UCSD, UTC and truly ten minutes from center city in no traffic. The room was clean and comfortable. it is located in a pleasant office park, and it makes a great weekend accommodation due to the fact that the rates are relatively low compared to other Marriott products in the area by virtue of its location. Unfortunately the only real negative is that the Wi-Fi, which is supposed to be free for elite users, was nonfunctional... Read more
