We went to the Grand Canyon from Phoenix, so visit Flagstaff was an option and we stayed a night over. The hotel Is plenty of history, it has is own character and style. My daughter and I had the Bop Hope suite and the bed were comfortable. The room was clean and not noisy at all since it didnā??t face the street. We checked in in no time upon our arrival around 6pm and the staff was friendly. I didnā??t go to the lounge, but I liked the music, the crowd and the atmosphere as I could see inside.... Read more

This is my second stay at Monte Vista, it was okay first time, no problems. The king room I'm in now is much nicer, and comfortable. Bathroom is great, with a large jetted bathtub. Renovation looks fairly recent, art work in the room really looks nice, but doesn't really go with the theme of a historic hotel, it's very modern. View leaves something to be desired.

I am not sure why folks post such negative reviews about this spot. If you are looking for a generic chain hotel, go stay at one. My partner and I prefer a spot with a bit of history and character and the Hotel Monte Vista delivered both! We were definitely apprehensive about staying here after reading reviews about the noise, but it sounded too cool to pass up. Still, we had an early start time the next morning and we were afraid that the bar patrons mentioned in many of the reviews would kee... Read more

This is a good historic hotel, lots of character. Our king room on the fourth floor was a good size. There was a sink in the room, with a small bathroom with the toilet and shower. You have to like this sort of place or you will be disappointed. It is located in the historic center with walking access to independent restaurants, bars, and some shopping. There was some noise in the room from outside but it was tolerable.

Great place to stay which is out of the ordinary . The history of the hotel is interesting and the named rooms after film stars make it all the more special . Kind of wanted to see a ghost to tell family back home . The rooms are old fashioned but that is perfect , the corridors remind me of the Haunted Mansion at Disney . I did it as part of Route 66 and it was one of the highlights . Parking was over the road so not too much of a problem . Flagstaff in general was a pleasant surprise and wor... Read more

My husband and were visiting a nearby town to view some property and wanting a midway point to spend one night, we also wanted to check out some local restaurants and do a little shopping the night before. Downtown Flagstaff is full of both. My husband is a history buff and loved the story behind this hotel so he read up on some of the online information and booked us a room. If you love history you will appreciate the story behind this hotel now if your open spiritually read about the room yo... Read more

If you like staying in historic districts this is a good hotel. It caters to the college age as does all of the downtown historic district since this is a college town. Each room is decorated different and is named after someone famous who stayed there. The bathrooms like In most historic hotels is lacking but this hotel was build before indoor plumbing and it's an add on taking in what was once closet space. Stay on the back side of hotel if can since the college crowd stays on the st... Read more

Elegant and art deco. Ask for upper room because of street noise. Parking is not good its easier to pay across street. This old Haunted Hotel has an interesting history of many famous people staying here. We had tiny room 216 love my mauve colored room with a very clean bathroom! We will be back!

my girlfriend and I stayed here in the fall and were on the top floor " Air Supply" room. Rooms have always been pleasant and clean in my experience and it's nice to see a hotel that has some personality.
