There is always a wide choice of food on offer. The food is very well cooked and presented. Staff are friendly and efficient. Very good choice of wines. Always busy so best to book for this very popular hostelry - locals and holidaymakers/visitors alike

Disappointing. Room (Chapel view) reached by a very steep staircase anybody older would have major problems. Damp patches on ceiling in main room and bathroom. Strong smell of drains - like it hadn't been used for a while. Grout on shower black in places and in need of bleaching. Carpet had some stains. Bed - 2 twins put together.

Very ‚??olde worldy‚??! So not to everyone‚??s taste, but we love quirky places and this was a great one to stay in! ū??? Would highly recommend staying here if you want to see the city. It‚??s in the perfect location!

We were joining friends from Canada who had already booked. The hotel is in an ideal location, only a few yards from the cathedral, yet with parking for residents. The atmosphere is great and the rooms large, clean and warm, with everything necessary provided. The breakfast was excellent with all hot food individually prepared, and a good selection of cereals etc. The evening meal was very good if a little pricey, for pub-style dining. Overall, an enjoyable stay and an excellent location.

I enjoyed my time at the Wykeham Arms, allowing me to work at the University and meet friends centrally. I like the complimentary drinks and really good biscuits. Better than a regular B&B. Not too expensive for this time of year and although I did not eat there, the restaurant looked welcoming. The shower was not too warm, but otherwise it was comfortable.

The Wykeham Arms is in a great location to visit the Winchester Cathedral and other sites in the city. It is historic, over 250 years old, and the restaurant is excellent, as well as the Pub that could be in a movie. Our room was in an old building across the street, but had been modernized. It was not luxury, but clean, comfortable and spacious. This is the place to stay if you come to Winchester.

Located in the old part of Winchester only yards away from the Cathedral grounds. A very atmospheric and cosy pub. Comfy bed and good facilities - a light over a mirror in the bathroom would have been useful also fan for en suite didn't come on with the light - Clean and comfortable though decor was a little tired.

William Wykeham was 14th century Bishop of Winchester and founder of Winchester College and New College Oxford. His coat of arms bears the motto ‚??manners makyth man‚?? which is as true today as it was then. My visit was also brief but I enjoyed very much chicken in sourdough toasted sandwich and the smiling hospitality of the staff. The eclectic collection of walking sticks etc, plus the recycled school desks makes for an unusual and interesting decor. Hopefully I will have another opportunit... Read more

Good cheerful service. Comfortable room. The breakfast was good quality but much choice from the buffet. The cooked plates were for me too big to finish. Overall, good service, lots of character and I'll be back.

Stayed in the Beaufort room for two nights. Comfortable bed and pillows. Fridge in room with complimentary water and beer, it also contained a jug of milk for tea and coffee. Good size bathroom with slipper bath but shower cubicle on the small side. Lighting poor, needs attention. Creaky floorboards but that adds to its charm. Good location. Would recommend.
