My husband brought me here for a late birthday treat having been here early summer for afternoon tea. We enjoyed that so much that when we spotted an offer on for an overnight stay we decided to try it. Our seaview room was beautiful, clean & tidy with a box of complimentary fudge waiting for us which was a nice surprise. The beds were comfortable & the room had everything we needed. We ate in the restaurant both nights & the food was amazing & very well presented. I made sure I had the chocolat... Read more

My wife and I visited as part of a Travelzoo DBB package which made our stay very good VFM. We paid the extra for a sea view room and were not at all disappointed with the room or the wonderful view. Our welcome was very personal and being taken to the room by the receptionist was an unusual occurrence these days, a good start! Where things faltered for us was the dinner experience... We went to the bar for pre dinner drinks and were not best pleased with being greeted by a dozen or so boisterou... Read more

We recently stayed for 2 nights on a travelzoo deal and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I??m not sure how anyone can find anything to complain about. The staff were amazing. Our room was spotless and the views were beautiful. Gorran Haven is a small village but there are plenty of nearby towns to explore. Close to heligan and the Eden Project. We ate in the restaurant on both nights and the food was delicious, the chocolate delice is my favourite. There was a box of fudge waiting for us in our roo... Read more

Can i start off by saying we enjoyed our stay. Gorran Haven is a wonderful place peaceful and scenic on the eastern coast of Cornwall near the main town St Austell with Truro about 15 mile drive. It??s ideally situated for coastal walking and there is plenty of cycle trails nearby. I first stayed here several years ago for a friends wedding and was so impressed that I came back. It markets itself as a boutique hotel but in the years i had been away it felt more like a general hotel. It was peac... Read more

Had a two night stay as part of a Travelzoo offer. Very comfortable room with a view of the sea, which has bath robes and a lap top size safe, tea, coffee and biscuits plus daily bottled water. The three course dinner, part of our package, was excellent as was the reasonably priced Fish Friday three course menu. We also thought the wines were very reasonably priced, the Chilean Pinot Noir being excellent. Very tasty breakfast with superb Eggs Benedict. Overall a very pleasant stay in a pretty c... Read more

What a wonderful hotel location, everything we wanted but the overall experience was totally let down by the bad service and attitude of the very young staff. If we complained about lack of service or as an example room not being made up it became the clients fault eg the fact that although we had been out of our room since 9 am returning at 16.15 to an unmade room was our fault as the cleaner came to us at 16.30 when we were showering and changing for our evening out and we said that it was no... We always enjoy visiting this modern hotel in the centre of the sleepy little fishing village of Gorran Haven. A warm welcome, great food and lovely rooms soon make you feel relaxed and far away from the pressures of everyday life. On this visit we stayed in a standard room which was actually just as good as the previous rooms we have stayed in, the only difference was no sea view. We dined in the bistro and enjoyed the catch of the day which simply melted in the mouth. The accompanying bottle ... Read more

Arrived to find the twin room I booked was not on the booking and we had to have a double room. The dinner deal was explained incorrectly even after checking with the waitress. The pheasant was tough and when relayed to the waitress we were told it was cooked as it should. Twice the key stopped working. The towels weren't changed. The toiletries not replaced. Dirty glassware not taken away. All in all not the experience I had expected.
