I visited the Rose-In-Vale for a Christmas function. As you pull into the drive the property does look very impressive but as soon as you pass the front the building extension resembles more of a Premier Inn at the rear. Although not a big issue for a 4 star hotel i found the location of reception rather strange, you would normally expect it to be a central focal point but it is nowhere near the main communal areas. We were directed down a maze of corridors where we came across the function r... Read more

A gorgeous country manor style hotel in a peaceful valley setting. We had a weekend break here and had a lovely time. The owners are charming and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Rooms are beautifully furnished and feel luxurious with really good quality furniture and tasteful, classic decor. Food was awesome, the chef must be first class. Outside there is an open air pool and beautiful gardens. Plenty of car parking space. The hotel is close to St Agnes and Truro and we enjoyed ... Read more

I booked the Rose in Vale early 2016 for my September 16 wedding, I had decided to have a marquee wedding in the grounds of the hotel as although, I loved the front Georgian building, the dining room where the breakfast and reception would be hosted was not to my taste. The room is an odd shape and therefore, I felt it may be too cramped. I booked my marquee thorough Absolute Canvas who are a brilliant and friendly company and their staff cannot do enough for you. They really do embody good cu... Read more

Absolutely fabulous! Warm, friendly, welcoming, comfortable, traditional with a contemporary twist. It was our first time away without the family.... away from the washing up and cooking for the 5000..... :) Even our little four legged friend, Meggy moo, was made to feel wanted and became a real charmer for the team and guests. The team at the 'Rose' couldn't have been more welcoming in offering us every consideration and making our Christmas break a most pleasurable one. There was somethin... Read more

We have just returned from a wonderful Christmas at this hotel. We were visiting as a family of 8 of very different ages and we all very much enjoyed our stay. Everybody was made to feel so welcome by the owners Paul and Claire and their wonderful daughters and staff. They went out of their way to accommodate all our needs. The food was fantastic and our Christmas lunch in particular was delicious and the restaurant staff were efficient and professional. We stayed in the garden suite with our t... Read more

The staff at this hotel are superb, nothing is too much trouble. The room was clean and tastefully decorated and the beds are superbly comfortable! We stayed here for 2 nights for my son's wedding (he hired the whole hotel) and we could not have wished for a more welcoming, friendly service from all involved. The breakfasts are very filling and the wedding reception food was amazing! Claire, you are a star!!! Anyone wanting a lovely location (apparently it is much more beautiful in the summer ... We first arrived and pulled into the driveway to be greeted by a beautiful Georgian house with its beautiful front door. But wait, this is not the way in! Drive past this, round the back to a grotty car park, then in the side of the hotel to reception. This bears more than a passing resemblance to a caravan park reception. We were shown to our room, which resembled an attic room, with all the charm of Norman Bates‚?? mother‚??s room and about as warm as a polar ice cap. Ignoring the tatty lookin... Read more

On arrival we were given a very warm welcome whilst checking in. We were shown to our room - The Rose suite and the receptionist was very informative. The rose suite was decorated with a warm and homely feel with some great statement furniture. Seating in the windows offering delightful views over the gardens a wonderful addition. Tea making facilities of excellent quality, complimentary toiletries and robes hung warm in the bathroom made this stay one to want to revisit. Breakfast was served... Read more

This was meant to be a relaxing few days paying out for a much more luxurious hotel than I usually go to, much needed after a very busy time. I would say this hotel although set in lovely gardens (which we could not enjoy owing to the autumn Cornish weather, not the hotel owners' fault!) did not live up to its high price and the image it wanted to create other than the exquisite food. We had upgraded to benefit from the 'best' room which would not be described as being exactly luxurious in ter... Read more
