We spent 4 days here and on arrival were given a room which wasn't as we hadn't expected. The manager dealt with it very swiftly and without fuss and we were very lucky to be given an upgrade to one of the front facing rooms which was a definite bonus. The view from our room was lovely and you could sit there and watch the local ferries coming and going all day. The hotel is a bit dated but has recently been refurbished and is adequate and value for money. Breakfast was good and staff were ver... Read more

Stayed for 2 nights...staff all very helpful if needed any help or info on local area...stayed in room 22 where we were lucky enough to have a jacuzzi bath, just what was needed after long walks. Would recommend the hotel putting a VERY HOT WATER sign around the bath as it was extremely hot and wouldn't want somebody getting hurt. Breakfast was full cooked or continental with specials such as salmon and scrambled eggs....all excellent. Hotel is on the main esplanade with great views and town is ... Read more

Two night break to end the year. Staff were warm and paid attention to customers. Nice room, perhaps a little small for a double, but well appointed, the whirlpool bath, well, it didn't get used as we failed until near end of trip to realise where power supply was, we should have asked obviously. Breakfast service was good, buffet self serve, nice scrambled eggs and black pudding especially nice, sausages not great, but finding good sausages anywhere is a problem. We had the dinner on Hogmanay, ... Read more

I'll get the bad bit out of the way: The room was far too noisy. We could hear everything in the room above and next to us (conversation, snoring, TV and sex). I asked to be moved but they were fully booked until the next day. The manager advised that soundproofing works had been undertaken earlier in the year. They have obviously recognised this as an issue and tried to deal with it. When we tried to move there were only options within the main block at the rear of the hotel which I assumed wo... Read more

We were travelling to Mull for New Year with our son and his partner. We needed a stopover before our ferry. The Queens is on the edge of the town centre but perfectly convenient for the terminal. There is practically no passing traffic. We had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was really good. Staff were helpful. There was free parking which in Oban is pretty useful. Without asking, I was offered a reduction on my room rate as I had booked too early to access Winter price reductions. That was muc... Read more

Stayed here a few days ago for a long weekend, staff are great very friendly and efficient. The hotel was very clean and the jacuzzi in the bathroom is a really nice touch. Can't fault the hotel for anything and as far as the price goes it was great. Parking was a bit tight but you can park on the main road which is probably better anyway. It's a shame that the hotel doesn't have a spa like a few of the others on the same stretch of road. But they did do an awesome breakfast, and we would defini... Read more

Stayed twice in a fortnight as I liked it so much. The friendly staff made us feel at home. Superbly comfortable bed, controllable heating, and the Jacuzzi bath was just what was needed after a day's shopping. According to my husband the shower was good too. We enjoyed both bar meals and restaurant meals there and the highlight for me was the lovely breakfasts. A huge choice from the buffet including fresh fruit, all you could possibly want in the way of a traditional Scottish breakfast, croi... Read more

This hotel is right on the front overlooking the bay ample car parking space and a very helpful and friendly reception. The room was a superior at the rear of the hotel with no view but we knew that when booking so not a problem, it was spacious well furnished and a large double bed, seating was excellent with a chesterfield setee and a armchair. The bathroom had a jaccuzi bath shower over the bath and plenty of hot water and towels including towelling robes and slippers overall a clean fresh pl... Read more

Stayed with a friend for a night and was very impressed with this hotel. It is great value for money and the staff were very very friendly and could not be more helpful. The hotel is old and the decor not particularly modern but it is clean and well maintained. My single room was small but perfectly adequate and the bathroom has recently been refurbished with a very spacious and modern shower. Highlight of the stay was the magnificent breakfast. Excellent choice of freshly prepared Scottish brea... Read more
