Where do i start. This has to be the worst food at any hotel I've ever stayed in. You have to go up and help yourself to most of it.The minestrone soup was thick and tasteless. Bread dry. I decided on the so called steak and kidney pie. The 'chef' served up a ladel full of mush and put a chunk of puff pastry on the top. The mashed potato looked horrible so I chose the dried out chips. Next the veg - bearing in mind the restaurant opened at 6 and i was there at 10 past - the broccoli was overcook... Read more

Ten minutes to be checked in whilst other staff sat chatting in an office. Asked for quiet room away from lift, got room by lift which was noisy, Room was cold as heating off - took 3 requests for heater and 2 hours, TV broken in room. Premier Dining not so premier - you just sit nearer the window, Coffee cold and more like a canteen. Entertainment not as advertised - all communal areas freezing Views were the only positive

Admittedly this hotel is cheap of you have a standard room. We paid £77 for 1 night half board for a room with a balcony(which was not guaranteed). Upon arrival we were told that we were not down to have dinner and that us having dinner would out them out :/. After checking the phone conversation we were told sorry yeah go in there for dinner. Not a great start being treated like we were trying to scam our way to dinner. Went to the room and instantly noticed the heat. Our room was found after ... Read more

The Grand Hotel, it may be not as good as it once was and admittedly needs money spending on it, however you do get what you pay for. Clean but tired accommodation. Friendly staff and predictable but reasonable entertainment. One thing you cannot fault though are the breath taking sea view rooms. We watched incredible sunsets and sunrises. It's good quality accommodation and reasonable prices. To summarise, you get what you pay for.

Booked though booking.com, good deal. Arrived at the hotel parked up no problem. No queue at reception and checked in easily. Was given room 511 standard double as per my booking, went to the room and it had a double bed but a very small window and it was a very small room, too small for two people for two night, went back to reception and asked for another room, and with a small charge we upgraded to room 97, which was a very nice room looking over the pier, really big room and very nice. The hotel is right on the water, the views are lovely, but the building is old and there is no wifi in the rooms. Some of the appliances are finicky, such as the toilet I tried to fix with cobweb central underneath the lid of the tank. You can just tell that the maintenance uses the "bandaid" repair method. If more money were put into this hotel, it would be absolutely phenomenal but alas, I have named it The Good Budapest Hotel. Also, if you crave wifi or have children that go bonkers without i... We got a room for one night for around £30. For that price I wasn't expecting a lot and we got what we paid for. The hotel feels like a residential care home in some aspects. The whole place is heated to tropical temperatures, there are mobility scooter charging points, the decor is stain resistant and there was an elderly gentleman asleep in reception. Checking in was pain free and the girl was very nice but missed some key pieces of information I would expect. Like what time breakfast was... Read more
