We stayed for three nights which included our wedding anniversary. We were given chocolates and a card from the hotel, very unexpected and very nice. Despite vast refurbishments taking place, it had no impact on our stay other than the door at the end of our corridor was open sometimes and we occasionally saw workmen passing through. The room was very comfortable, clean and had lovely soft furnishings and decor. The meals were excellent, despite us being in one for the special offers, a good ... Read more

We recently dined in the wonderful refurbished restaurant for my birthday. It was an amazing experience in comparison to our menu at a hotel down the road from Lodore. We knew from staying here previously just how good the food was and werenâ??t disappointed. The only disappointment being that we werenâ??t staying here again this time !! Bad mistake đ??˘The refurb on the whole of the ground floor is very tasteful and the Christmas decorations make it very welcoming and has such a cosy feel. The wai... Read more

This hotel has a fabulous position on Derwentwater, with Lodore Falls right behind. The staff were excellent - always friendly and polite, a happy bunch who seemed very much at ease with each other, which, given the range of nationalities, was a delight to see. The room was large, very clean and with a good en suite. Again, the staff on our floor were very efficient. A highlight of the hotel for us were the lounge areas and the bar lounge, where we found excellent soft furnishings and quiet area... Read more

Well it was my birthday and though my husband maintains he hadn't told them we were upgraded to a suite! First things first, check-in was friendly and efficient and there's loads of good parking across the road with a secure barrier. Our suite, Catbell suite, was enormous! A lovely lounge area with a large L shaped sofa, coffee tables, armchairs and a tv. The bedroom and bathroom were equally huge, a very comfortable bed and plenty of storage. There was a bath and separate rain shower. The towe... Read more

My wife and I stayed here last Thursday. We have stayed at 3 other Hotels in the chain so it was time to give this one a visit. The room was a good size as was the bathroom both maintained to a very good standard. The "free" cream tea was enjoyable as were all the meals we ate during our stay. The bar area has been recently decorated and is bright and fresh. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We look forward to coming back when the hotel works are finish... Read more

Well my girlfriend and I are currently driving back to Manchester after a lovely day out in the Lake District however on route, the dreaded happened - we drove over a particular rough patch in the road and got a puncture! We attempted to change the tire ourselves but to make matters worse we didn't have the right equipment so I ran over to the first place I found which happened to be The Lodore Falls Hotel and what a good decision that turned out to be! The most decent, kind and helpful gents we... Read more

A very enjoyable meal for three of us. Excellent friendly service and good food. Live music from the lounge piano. We had different starters and main course meals, all were tasty and well presented. Would book again for Sunday lunch.

This was the first time for lunch in 3 years and pleased to say it was very enjoyable, the lunch was excellent and I would highly recommend a visit. The extension and refurbishment is huge but looking good with the furnishings. Special thanks to Dean for looking after us so well.

Have just returned from a short stay at Lodore and it was faultless. Welcome - friendly and courteous. Rang the day before to book an evening meal. No problem and it was sorted. Room - we over looked the building work but I knew that when I booked. Could not hear much noise and it was soon dark. Clean, tidy, comfortable beds. Slept very well. Restaurant - lovely welcome, friendly, courteous staff, very good food and wine. Lounge bar- clean, tidy, quick, friendly service. Breakfast- courteou... Read more

Even if the restaurant looks nice and luxury, the service is extremely slow and and just feels like they are hunting your meal while you wait. The wait time for the soup is more than 50min and l am not even discussing the wait for the main. So if you are visiting Lake District and time is important for you, better avoid this place.
