This hotel is a perfect budget option to stay in central Edinburgh. Rooms and amenities are typical for the IBIS brand: impeccably clean and adequate, but not luxurious. The beds are, as in every IBIS, excellent and staff is very friendly. Only downside might be that the area has a rather busy nightlife, if you are a light sleeper you might want to pick a different location.

Ideal spot for exploring the city! However it was so noisy you couldnâ??t have a good night sleep, the heating wasnâ??t controllable and we were next to a boiler room so it was an actual sauna. The view from the window...although it was funny was pretty depressing đ??± All the staff were fantastic and very helpful too.

Clean, warm and modern. However, location means it's NOISY! So noisy in fact, Ibis, leave you a business card in the room telling you that there's complimentary ear plugs available from reception! We have previously stayed at the Ibis around the corner on the South Bridge, which is much quieter. Small bar in reception is very expensive, nearby bars and pubs are a lot cheaper.

We stayed at this hotel for our wedding anniversary. We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is located very centrally and is a short walk from the train station and most of the tourist attractions. We were greeted with a warm welcome and when we got to our room we found two small botttles of prosecco as a surprise for our anniversary. We have stayed at much more expensive hotels and not received this. Was very impressed.

My husband & I stayed here for 2 nights during our visit to Edinburgh. I was a little apprehensive based on the price compared with other EDI hotels but figured if it was bad it was only two nights for us to suffer through. By the end of our stay I was sad we only had two nights there. I wish the quality of our other lodgings during our time in the UK lived up to this place!!! We arrived from the airport about 5 hours before checkin. I had emailed before we left the US & asked if they had somewh... Read more

Stayed here on a short 2 day break to Edinburgh. The location is good as it's very close to the Royal Mile and the staff are polite and reasonably welcoming, though I'd agree with a previous reviewer that it's more like an Apple Store than a Hotel as far as the look and feel of the reception area goes. In fact the whole place is very basic / IKEA style. We had a similar problem to other guests in that we only had 2 quite small bath towels and no hand towels. Why? This problem seems to have been... Stayed here for 3 nights during half term week. Very friendly and helpful staff. The location was excellent for The Royal Mile ( just round the corner) and 5 minute walk from the train station ( lots of steps to climb from the station though, but this is part of Edinburgh's charm). Had a room on the top floor which let lots of light in. Rooms cleaned every day. Bar open until late if needed and food served 24 hours per day.

The hotel is closer to the action in Edinburgh than the other Ibis just down the road. It has a modern reception area with a bar. The breakfast room is just behind this and serves a full range of options. The bedroom was on the small side, but had everything we wanted for a short stay. We were at the back of the hotel and slept fine, there could be a noise issue at the front, but ear plugs are available.

Did not know this was a budget hotel when booking. Very glad we stayed there. Exceptionally clean, friendly staff, very different decor, loved it. Will stay again when in Edinburgh. Better than some of the more expensive hotels.
