We very much enjoyed our two week stay here. The entire staff, and especially Maggie at the front desk (with her perfect English), were extremely attentive to every one of our requests. They were very (and I mean very) polite and did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. When something unexpected happened late one night, the person at the front desk jumped to action and quickly found another room where we could comfortably sleep for the night, so that things could be sorted out in the morning, when we were all fully rested and awake (which they were, to our complete satisfaction).
Airport to hotel bus transfer: At the airport, go downstairs to the buses, then go to the window and purchase a ticket to buss 1962. Show them the hotel's address. Show the address to the buss driver, too. He will literally call on you when you get there! They will load your luggage under the bus and give you a ticket for it (you'll need it to get your bags). Once you get off the buss, walk "back" (against the direction of the road traffic) ~ 20 meters on the side walk until you see to the "beginning" of the 7-11 store. You will have to cross a small alley (look both ways to avoid getting run-over by a bike!). To your left, you should see the hallway to a multi-story building, with two elevators before the 7-11 (if you look in the hallway, the two elevators are going to be to your left). If you get to the entrance of 7-11, you have gone a little too far (10 meters). Just walk back and it is the first hallway on your right, now! Take either elevator to the 6th floor. The hotel occupies the entire 6th floor of this building!
The Moss Burger breakfast coupon was perfect. The buffet at the sister hotel was very "Asian" and we did not care for it after trying it once (we have spent 12 of the past 18 months in East and SE Asia, enjoying local foods!). The Moss Burger breakfast was very convenient and available as a take-away. The hotel staff noted that we could also use the tickets as "discounts" and purchase something more expensive, paying only the difference in face value!
We also used the complementary washer and dryer facility. The front desk staff helped us use them, as the buttons were in Chinese. They also happened to have detergent!
In addition to the free computers at the reception, the strong and fast free wi-fi in every room (each room having its own router, in addition to the "hotel-wide" routers), the staff printed several pages for us, without any issues (they asked that we email it to them). A multitude of electrical outlets were conveniently located on most walls. Reminder: the outlet to which the refrigerator is connected remains powered, even after you leave the room.
Note that at check-in they also ask that you provide a local phone number in case they need to contact you. We didn't have one, so they happily took our LINE and WhatsApp contacts, instead :).
The proximity of a 7-11 next door, a super tasty dim sum restaurant across the street, the quick shortcut to the subway (and our favorite Italian restaurant across from the Starbucks), taking the cross-street in front of the hotel and turning left at the first major intersection, made things even better. There is also a more extensive grocery store close-by (get out of the hotel, turn right at the first "major" intersection, it is a couple of blocks up - on the way to the sister hotel - it is "down the stairs" on your right hand side!)
The rooms and the bathrooms were new and super clean. They provide free umbrellas to "borrow" by the elevator. You can buy your own at a close-by store starting at $3 US!
Note that they might not bother you to clean the room if you don't leave it and do not have the "please clean room" magnet sticking outside of your door (you might get a call from the front desk inquiring if you want your room to be cleaned that day around 2:00 PM!). The cleaning staff were always smiling and GREAT.
What they could do to improve the rooms even more:
1. Move the cloths hooks over (they are currently above the full length mirror, so you cannot use the mirror if you are using the hooks!)
2. Add what the Brits call "bum gun" by every toilet (they have them in the lobby bathrooms, but not in the guest rooms)
3. Add an inch (or two) of sound insulation to every room's shared walls to help cut-down on the noise between the rooms
4. Add an inch of thermal (foam) insulation to the outside wall (the heat blasting in from that wall would almost overwhelm our A/C on a daily basis).
What they should keep on doing:
1. Keep all the Staff (better, yet: give them all a raise, as they are great)
