We have been there for a skying and hiking vacation, and we cold not have chosen better: friendly and helpful staff, beautiful and clean room (very comfy bed too!), great breakfast and overall service. The SPA is also good place where to relax after a day on the snow. For the winter sport lovers: one of the few boutique hotel with decent-sized cupboards!

absolutely fabulous hotel we just loved it. Great location, exquisite views of ice rink and matterhorn. Glass and modern design, stylish and hip and very very comfortable beds and pillows and nice linen, The breakfast was superb, the spa was amazing. We felt at home here and very very comfortable. An amazing cinema too. Only complaint is no gluten free bread options or gluten free cereals in the am, despite a request and the toilet did not feel private. Otherwise would definitely stay here again

This is the perfect hotel for a vacation that involves skiing as well as enjoying the nightlife of Zermatt. It is perfectly located in the town so that you can easily walk to the lifts and at night you can also easily walk to town to enjoy the many restaurants and bars of Zermatt. We traveled with our kids (18 and 12) and the hotel was so near that they felt they could walk alone back to the hotel if we wanted to stay a little longer. Also, the service at the hotel is amazing as well as the acco... Read more

We booked one of the cube rooms and were impressed by the style and design. Although not to everyone's taste, its certainly different. On a skiing holiday you appreciate a good bath and soak after a day on the piste, the bath took over 40mins to fill up! The design is quirky and if you are in a new relationship the lack of privacy in the bathroom area maybe a concern! One area the hotel is very poor is transportation. We had to make our own arrangements to get to the ski lifts everyday, if... Read more

I booked a deluxe double with Matterhorn view. The room was on the first floor and had a funky design. The shower and toilet is behind a glass wall (not 100% private), the bathroom is integrated in the room and very limited in space. For 2 person for a longer winter holiday, the room is too cramped, but for a solo traveller or a short weekend, it's fine. The view is to the outdoor spa, the backfront of another hotel and a limited Matterhorn view. I recommend a deluxe double without Matterhorn vi... Read more

We visited Zermatt to experience a White Christmas. Unfortunately this did not materialise, but everything else was perfect. To get to the snow, we had to travel up the ski slopes, which was magical. The Backstage Hotel and Spa was the perfect place to return to at the end of the day, or simply to relax if you needed a bit of quiet time, which retired people appear to be developing a need for. Possibly the breakfast could have a bit more variety, but everything else was perfect. The Spa is quite... Read more

A friend and I came to enjoy a short getaway and was immediately disappointed with the hotel. It looks nothing like their website. It is so small and cramped and every walkway/hall is super narrow. We got the Cube Suite but that was horrible, too. I guess the designer was going for pure looks and not practicality. First of all, super tiny room. The sitting area, bathroom and bedroom are all stacked on top of each other like a cube, RIGHT in the middle of the small room, making the room feel even... Read more

One of the best hotel experience in my life. The size of hotel is perfect and not too crowd, perfect for romantic trip. The gimmick of this hotel is its spa, you need to experience this once in your life. Love it and highly recommended, will definitely visit again, hope it won't fully booked.

Amazing experience at the Backstage. Unique hotel with very creative and classy decor - would be a hit in any major city. The spa is an experience of its own an a key differentiating factor vs other hotels. Also includes a cool bar/nightclub/cinema - which during the summer was a bit slow - but worth a drink.

We stay in this well-decorated hotel for 3 nights with balcony view. The view is awesome to overlook the tennis court and mountains. During the stay, the hotel crews are all friendly and helpful. We enjoy staying in this hotel. The location is also great. It is 5 min walk from train station. The nearby restaurants and supermarkets are convenient. Additionally, hotel is equipped with SPA utilities. It's comforting after the whole day of hiking.
