A sneaky week in January was just what the doctor ordered.... excellent reception, speedy, professional with huge smiles... we had booked a junior suite in the club area... thrilled to b be upgraded to a full suite.. gorgeous with a huge balcony... Immaculately kept areas, I found the breakfast to be a good mix, coffe and cake always appreciated...and as for the 6 - 9 p.m bar.... well abused with premium brands..Have to say the staff absolutely 'make' this hotel....the management should be very... Just got home from a 4 day break here with 2 friends. Could not fault the hotel. Beautiful big rooms with loads of extras in the rooms, lovely toiletries and rose petals in the bathroom. Excellent buffet breakfast could even have a glass of fizz with your breakfast. Wonderful spa and excellent treatments. Would love to come back

The room on first impression was good very clean although very dated.check-in was fast and staff friendly.we were four of us ,my husband and my two toddler's age 2 and 3.nothing much for kids to do in the hotel .not many family's in the hotel the time we went.the walk to the beach was roughly 15min since we had two prams with us. food was just okay nothing special but edible ,but we didn't have much selection for toddler's, so had to find something else later on for them.we have booked again to ... As part of a group celebrating my friends birthday, we travelled to The Volcan in January 2017. We were made to feel very welcome, this included a Champagne reception and a Happy Birthday Banner ( thanks to Racquel), Natalie the manager was very approachable hardworking and looked for constructive feedback regarding the hotel and its facilities. We stayed in the club section of the hotel and we' were very happy with all the services and facilities offered. All the staff we met were curtious frie... Read more

We stayed in this hotel for one week in late January. The hotel is set in fabulous grounds and has all the facilities you would expect in this standard of accommodation. The hotel has many plus points but also some minus points. Pros - The staff are very pleasant and very helpful. The location close to the Marina and away from the crowds is magnificent. The breakfasts are very comprehensive, good quality and are well recommended Cons, The evening meal was of a lower standard than you would ... Read more

This is NOT a 5 star hotel - but nearer a 3-4 star hotel by UK standards. We booked to stay in the Club part of the Hotel, based on the website - which VERY confusingly has a section on 'The Club' and 'Club Volcan' which are two very different things - as the deputy manager curtly informed us after we had arrived. The website is poor - we booked directly through the website. It is full of 'ticked boxes' showing what facilities are available including 'shampoo' and 'body lotion' - a bit over the... Read more

The grounds of this hotel and the pool areas are immaculate. However for a 5 star it lacked the luxuries. Towels were hard and the beds as hard as rock! Everything you could think of for breakfast but first you must find a table most mornings and the hot food was sometimes not that hot. This hotel is not for the less able as there are steps everywhere but left fitter than we arrived. Lovely situation and reception staff very friendly and efficient. Would we come again - yes purely for the situa... Read more

We arrived late afternoon on Christmas Day. We had booked two single rooms which were extremely far apart, despite having requested that they be as adjacent to each other as possible. This was a big disappointment, especially as there are many steps and poorly lit 'walkways' on the complex. It took us a while to become familiar with the layout of this hotel, both inside and out. A beautiful building which, in places, is very tired and lacks atmosphere! The grounds were kept very tidy and st... Read more

My wife and I - a 'mature' couple - stayed in the Volcan just before Christmas when it was very quiet. We had an excellent experience. We've stayed in a number of hotels/villas in Playa Blanca. The Volcan seems a little 'quirky' because of the volcano roof and the 'church' entrance but overall it's similar to the Yaiza Princessa hotel and a little cheaper. We booked a sea-view room and were allocated one of the more individual type rooms on the left of the main entrance (viewed from the Marina.... Read more

We have just returned from a lovely one week winter break. The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly, we stayed B&B and there is a good selection of fruit, cakes, bread, cold meat and cooked food, cava is also available every morning. We booked on the hotel Catamaran trip which was excellent, with cakes/ cava/ coffee and soft drinks. We did eat and drink out in the Marina as there are many restaurants and bars to choose from. All in all a great holiday and we would return to this hotel.
