3rd stay here now and we love it, friendly staff amazing location perfect for exploring the Old Town and further afield. Yes the hotels a bit tired and the food is a bit hit and miss, but itâ??s a nice small hotel just off Poniente beach, we actually like the old decor inside and prefer to eat out anyhow. Hotel is spotlessly clean, room cleaned everyday. I highly recommend getting a front facing room, you can sit on the balcony and watch the world go by.

Myself and my partner stayed at the Port Mar Blau for a week. If you are expecting 5* international boredom, standard rooms, standard food, plastic staff, this is not the place for you. It is, yes, slightly aged, but that adds to its charm. We didn't get a sea view rooms, but that wasn't such a huge issue. The balcony on our room at the back of the hotel was HUGE. Our room was cleaned perfectly every day. The food is great - in fact, we saw many local residents coming into the hotel for their... Read more

this was a lovely little hotel close to the seafront with NO! kids, the rooms are basic with no frills, like fridge or tea making facilities (we took our own kettle). the food was adequate and well prepared, the rooms are well kept as far as housekeeping is concerned. overall, its a nice place to stay at, within a reasonable budget, i would recommend paying for a sea view.

If you like Benidorm Old Town, and adults only, this is a good position - easy walk to centre and just far enough away from the rowdy areas and close enough to the sea front, though you have to cross a busy road. This is an old Hotel and therefore limited in facilities i.e. one small lift but all the staff we encountered were very pleasant.Food served buffet style, a decent choice and just about ok for us The rooms at the back, although clean and tidy, leave a lot to be desired but I can not spea... We stayed in a mixed group of 6, 3 in each room which was a bit tight. The back rooms are a bit like prison cells but are clean and you get fresh towels every day. The staff work hard and are very friendly. The food was ok but the location was excellent. Tea making facilities would also be a good shout. Book with an open mind and you are getting what you pay for.

Hotel itself was ok not outstanding food poor no variety we went out to eat most days also rooms only changed sheets when we left them outside on floor we were stuck at back of hotel looking out to where people walked their dogs and bins were emptied not good at all as we had asked for sea view no pool so this meant we had to purchase sun beds every day which added to cost overall would not advise anyone to stay here

We've visited the Mar Blau most years from 2010 in mid season but never in peak season. The location is fantastic, right on the sea front with perfect views of the Poniente beach. However, to have the best views you must get a room above the second floor and pay extra for the sea view. Since being run now by Port group the hotel hasn't changed much. The staff are still very friendly and helpful. Free WiFi is now available. Food choice is OK but a bit repetitiive. Rooms are fairly basic but well ... Read more

This was a nice hotel but felt we had stepped back into the 70s, our biggest disapointment was no pool so had to be content with the big pool straight acrosst the road ('the sea'). The room was clean but basic, we had asked for a sea view but that never happened, our room looked over a back street, I think the term interesting comes to mind. The balcony was only large enough for 2 people if they were good at manoeuvering themselves. The lift was very small and very very slow. The food was okay, ... Read more
