As most reviews mention, the hotel seems a bit tired and old. Although the location is reasonable for being in the center. The shuttle service to the wharf was perfect for drop off and pick up (only 10 mins max to the wharf). The room was quiet. Some reviews mentioned the restaurant food was bad, but we actually had two very good breakfasts each morning with plenty of options.

Basic hotel but offers great access to the Cape Town International Convention Centre which is just a 5 minute walk. Food very average. Offers free hourly shuttle bus to the waterfront where there are plenty of shops, coffee shops and restaurants

On Friday, my family and I visited the Capetonian for Eid lunch. I need to give you an holistic view of my experience with your team from the offset so that you can have a clear understanding of my disappointment in what transpired on the day in question. Initially, I submitted a quotation request to your staff, and I must say, I received a prompt response. What was a concern was the fact that the entire amount of due upfront. I understand that Eid is a busy day but to have a party commit witho... Read more

Now it's just old. Service isn't very good. Not what it used to be a few years ago. Looks like it hasn't been upgraded ever. Not worth what you pay to stay here. There are much better hotels in this price range in Cape Town.

Bit disappointed after having been there a couple of years ago. The place has not been updated since and looking very tired Breakfast which was wonderful last time was now ok but very standard and the offering/selection has been drastically reduced since my previous visit a few years ago Empty dinning room clean with staff friendly and attentive Breakfast was luke warm under domes, scrambled eggs stiff and dry, only the sautéed potatoes had any flavor I am afraid we won't be going back, what ... The hotel is rated as a 4 star - which can't be farther from the truth - a 2 star max. The hotel is filthy; the carpets haven't seen a vacuum cleaner for a long time! The positive about the hotel is the nearness to the seaside front with a free shuttle service.

Room was comfortable, quiet, and warm. It provided transportation to the waterfront, but getting a ride back was often troubling to coordinate. Breakfast buffet was crowded with tour groups. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

Stayed a lovely family room. There are no good views to speak of, but the central location and good value make up for it. Minutes away from Artscape and the V and A waterfront. Good breakfast and close to restaurants and takeaways. Very comfortable beds and pillows. The mini fridge was a bonus. There is a free shuttle to the Waterfront which is good because the parking fees can be quite a shocker. Really enjoyed our stay, friendly helpful staff and Mr Modak (owner/ manager, not sure) was ... Read more

This is my fifth stay at this hotel. It is a bit weary worn, but is undergoing refurbishment bit by bit. The rooms are large but do not have double glazing. One half of the building has acceptable views of Table Mountain. The staff are very polite and genuinely friendly. On the second floor is restaurant that you can get tea or coffee in and just chill out. The breakfast is buffet style and has a good selection especially for halal, as it caters for Muslim travellers. There is a small gym equipp... Read more
