Let me first get this out of the way: I went to stay in Amsterdam for eight days. At the beginning of my vacation, I got food poisoning (I'm all but certain that it wasn't from the hotel restaurants, however; I'm pretty sure that a bad hot dog I got from the Museumsquartier was the culprit), and just when I recovered from that, I got sick with the flu up until the end of my stay. So let's just say that now, rather unfairly, whenever I think of Amsterdam most of what I'll think of is a series of ... Read more

We stayed here after a Viking Cruise, it was arranged through the cruise line. It was a 5 star Hotel, great location, beautiful room. Nespresso coffee maker in the room, slippers put out at night with the turn down, marvelous bathroom...I just had trouble figuring out the lighting the first night! We had the breakfast one morning and it was wonderful. Easy to walk to restaurants nearby and to access public transportation. If you get a box breakfast (we had an early flight) be sure to ask f... Hotel Okura was great. It was warm and welcoming, the staff were extremely friendly and everyone was helpful. The tram is approximately five minutes walk away and then it is 15mins to the centre so it isn't ideally located for that. It is in De Pijp though and this is a great area (it was our favourite area anyway) with lovely boutiques and restaurants. The spa facilities were also lovely. There is a pool, spa, sauna area with ice and footbath as well as sauna and steam room. The hotel felt secu... Read more

Very polite and friendly staff - impeccable infrastructure and utilities. Good location - away from crowds and very quite. Definitely a five star hotel for sophisticated guests at very good value. The three Michelin star restaurants in the hotel are of great convenience. It is certainly a great place to stay.

The situation of the hotel is very good. The building is very luxurious and looks very nice from the exterior. When I arrived and asked the receptionist to put a cash deposit (I prefer because credit card holds took 10 days to back to you and if you travel a lot, you can have 3000 euro on hold waiting for back). The first look of the man to me was like thinking I have not enough money, he told me "for two nights cash deposit is 400euros" so I put the 400 euros in cash and go to room (00.30 am). ... Read more

We stayed for three nights just before Christmas. The welcome was superb, the room so cosy and beautiful sheets. Utter luxury. Not the cheapest of bars upstairs, and didn't eat there. Great swimming pool length and jacuuzi etc.. Slightly arsey maid when we came back from our swim and she had started cleaning the room so had to leave. Other than that, First Class!!

We stayed in the Okura for a quick getaway to celebrate my wife's birthday. We booked a Japanese wellness package. Upon arrival we were informed that we received an upgrade to an executive room. The room was truly amazing, very spacious with a wonderful view. Facilities in the hotel are excellent. We really enjoyed the sauna and gym, everything was in good condition and perfectly clean. The massages were executed by well trained professionals, by the end of the weekend we were totally relaxed. W... Read more

The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The room was above expectation. Less than a 10 min walk to most public transportation. The Hop On/Off was about a 15 min walk right next to the Heineken experience. Five more minutes and you are at the Van Gogh and other museums. We were there in the winter and from San Diego so it was too cold for us to bike, but in the summer biking would definitely be the way to go. Overall, Hotel Okura made our stay in Amsterdam just that much more remember... Read more
