The place is a bit on the pricier side, but definitely worth it. The service is impecable. If I had a complaint, which really isn't one is that the wood floor beneath the carpet creeks when you walk the room.

The general areas are beautiful old Art Deco but in terms of level of service, size and quality of rooms I was not impressed given what they charge. Not terrible at all but you could get an perfectly fine experience eleawhere for less. Unless your lazy. There is no denying the location is as central as you can get.

It my second time to this hotel and I wasn't disappointed. The best part is the location - central location in the city center and near all the museums, a bus stop for the airport bus and vondel park. We got a room in the sixet floor, room was equipped with a tea, coffee and hot chocolate (and a kettle) a with a modern decor. Breakfast is recommended, but a bit pricy if you do not order in advance (included on your room rate).

Fabulous location in a lovely part of Amsterdam with easy walks to museums, lovely restaurants and bars. Hotel was beautiful and we were fortunate enough to have a room with a balcony and canal views.

Amazing location, it was very easy to get to museums around the city. Great location to just head out and walk around or catch trams from. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful as it was my first time in Amsterdam/Europe. They also put up with a lot of my dumb questions about staying in hotels which I was not used to hah.

This is a great hotel but may not to be everyone's taste. Walking in to the hotel felt very welcoming. The staff were very polite and helpful with the reception looking very modern. Heading to the room you feel like you are going back in time with the heritage of the hotel's features making themselves known. Then came the smell. There seem to be a heavy aroma of air freshness and the room itself had a strong smell which is indescribable. It wasn't overly unpleasant but it was noticeable and ha... Read more

We had 3 nights here for my 50th birthday and it was magical. The hotel was a delight and the staff so friendly and helpful. We had a balcony room and complimentary fizz for my actual birthday. The bed was the most comfortable one we have ever slept in and would love to know the brand of the mattress! We felt truly refreshed after every nights' sleep. The discounted breakfast was more than you could want. We had a gorgeous meal in the restaurant (compliments to the chef) and the bar staff... Read more

Very nice hotel. Centrally located in the middle of loads of entertainment venues and restaurants. Tram #s 1, 2, and 5 go right there, about five minutes from the train station. I booked a classic room and later upgraded to a deluxe with a balcony, which was not too expensive. The staff were incredibly understanding about my consistent change of plans up until the last minute. The balcony was the best part of the room. I stayed in room 508 and had a nice view of the canal (boat tours ri... Read more

Historic hotel in the middle of the city. The hotel itself is a gem to walk around in. The American bar in front of the hotel is a favorite of locals for pre-theater drinks. Nice wines at nice prices. Excellent staff. This is busy hotel and well priced. Only reason for 4 instead of five is smallish rooms and bathrooms. Beds were large and comfortable. A great hotel.
