Spent the afternoon with friends sitting on the terrace. We all had non alcholic drinks The glasses were so packed with ice hence after sipping three straw fulls the only think left was ice! Lots of staff standing around chatting but not serving. We were given minute portions of dried hard spiced croutons we could not eat. The masses of birds on our tables enjoyed them. 100 dirhams each drink I don't know how they justify their prices...will not be going again.

A short surprise break here and a review of the comments made since, makes for an interesting read in hindsight. The staff could not have been more welcoming throughout. Every member said hello in passing from the bellboys through to the reception staff (so I do not recognise some of the comments made) English was widely spoke and no issues noted. The room (483) was well appointed with a large bowl of fruit on arrival and a vase of red roses brought in shortly after. The bed was enormous and ver... Read more

I have been staying here for the last 4 years and have enjoyed the hotel. I recommend this place to friends. This last stay was not so good. The service is was terrible (in the restaurants, pool and even check out) The issue is not the lack of staff members but the lack of them taking care of the clients. I see alot of them running around or just talking to themselves while you wait. We waited over an hour after we ordered drinks for anyone to come back and ask if we needed anything else. No o... Just finished a 3 night stay at the Sofitel. Rooms (beds, amenities, size, beds, bedding, showers, etc) all excellent (we stayed in a newly furnished room. You need to walk through the dining area to get to your room which is odd. The spa is gorgeous but we did not have time for a service. Shopping at boutiques (local designer max & Jan clothing very reasonably priced). Service needs a lot of help, especially the front desk which is staffed by arrogant, non-empathetic people ( even the conc... Read more

The Sofitel in Marrakech, turned out to be a good choice though it was a challenge to get the front desk to change our room. The deluxe room we had, did not have a comfortable easy chair, which I needed for my backache and so we upgraded to a mini-suite to have the benefit of a sofa chair. This upgrade was a challenge ?? but it eventually was sorted out by the helpful and dedicated Ibitissam at the front desk. The hotel only had the much more expensive ??sophisticated?? suites available for t... Read more

Large luxury hotel with at least 6 places to eat, 4 pools, of which 2 really large, and one private, have to pay extra, all surrounded by lounge beds rather than chairs, lots of parasols to keep you in the shade, whirlpool, tabletennis table, jeu de boule, chess and other stuff to keep you busy. Only annoying thing, people reserve their lounge beds early morning and then leave for the most part of the day. Good thing, thing, it is so big, you will always find a free spot, though management shoul... Read more

My husband and I visited Morocco for our honeymoon and had such an amazing stay at the hotel! We spent 3 nights at the Sofitel in Marrakech and were treated to a warm welcome by the receptionist, they brought us warm towels, mint tea and French macaroons and Moroccan sweets as we say in the lobby while the receptionist checked us in. The receptionist Chamime (not sure if that's the correct spelling) was such a delight. She went above and beyond her job description to make sure we had a memorab... Read more

A very large and beautiful hotel with great location near the bazaar of Marrakech. Stayed for one night and had breakfast the following morning. Lobby was enormous with very high ceiling. Staff was very friendly and professional. Room was luxurious and spacious (also a big balcony with sofa). Had a brief visit at the bar on the patio as well and didn't have to be disappointed. Beers were served with great variety of snacks and the service was outstanding. Breakfast choice was unbelievable and... Read more

Awful service throughout our week stay here. At the reception desk although they see you waiting to be seen to they ignore you. All staff speak french and if you can't speak it they mock you and aren't interested in helping you. For a 5* hotel wasn't expecting such disgusting service. We even got asked our room numbers a couple of times by a staff member who has seen us day in day out around the pool area acting like we had walked in from the street! The food at the poolside restaurant is awful.... Read more
