We arrived to the hotel like around 10pm tired from the day. We went to sleep and I woke up around 4:30am and noticed that our door was wide opened and our phones were missing. Both my bf and I ran frantically to the front desk and asked for help but no one was willing to help us. After 20 minutes of explaining they finally called the cops. The cops came and made a report but said they couldnā??t do much. They said the hotel is responsible for the break-in and should pay us for the stolen phones... Read more

The public spaces are nice & the staff friendly & helpful. There is usually someone on duty who speaks English. The rooms are small & very basic in their furnishings. The bed is comfortable, thereā??s good & quiet AC & a closet to hang your clothes. What the room doesnā??t have is a rack or bench to put suitcases on so they end up on the floor. The bathroom had no hooks or racks to hang towels. These are small complaints for what is a decent, well-located hotel. Because of tile & other hard surf... Read more

First of all, I was in the third floor in room Palenque when the 8.2 earthquake hit at 11:49pm. that being said, this hotel is strong enough to survive an earthquake of that intensity. I love hotel del Carmen! The hotel staff is really accommodating, if you need anything 24 hour staff available. The area is very safe...no need to worry of anything. You're safe to walk at night and enjoy a nice evening in Marimba park and church. so location is great. Next breakfast is included, delicious! ... Read more

We spent our first night in Chiapas here, after a hectic set back with our flight. The staff was super nice when we arrived and the breakfast (included in the price) was delicious! Also, I had forgotten a few items when we left to Palenque, the staff took care of my things and had them ready for pick up upon our return to the city. Very nice!

Tuxtla is not really a nice city: big, noisy, polutted. Use it only as a residence to visit major attractions as e.g. the Canon del Sumidero and the zoo. The staff of the hotel is very friendly and helpful in organising the right tours you ask for. The rooms are basic, clean and well-taken care of. Good Wifi connection. Airport shuttle available upon request.

We stayed here for 14 nights in July 2015. The place had a delicious buffet breakfast, super friendly and helpful staff who helped us with all our needs (we travelled as a group.) Would recommend! A short walk from the markets and a quick taxu ride to the main shopping plaza.

We stayed here two nights. Location is decent at just a couple blocks from Marimba square. Room: The rooms are very small with a double and a twin in the standard rooms. Bathrooms are also small. The beds are firm, as are the pillows. They do not provide hand towels or shower mats. There is also no coffee maker. They provide one bottle of water per day but there is water available, including hot, on the first floor for all the guests to serve themselves. If you bring nescafe, you can use the ... Read more

This hotel is incredibly clean, located a block off the main street so it is quiet, and it is very central in Tuxtla to the main plazas and shopping areas. Breakfast is great, but a little on the pricey side in comparison with prices outside!

This is a very clean, basic hotel. The hotel staff were very helpful. The rate we had included breakfast - which was actually fairly good. A/C worked very well (which was a big plus in this very hot city). The one complaint is that the rooms are quite small and there isn't really any space to lay out ones suitcases. There's no light for reading (but I usually bring a head-lamp anyway). The hotel can help with arranging tours of the Sumidero Canyon and related sites - which is nice. There... Read more
