Puerto Vallarta or PVR as it is known by the many who return here every year is rimmed by dreamy mountains and set on the shores of the largest bay in Mexico. Its natural beauty is the setting for world-class resorts on fine Pacific beaches bathed in tropical sunshine.
Here, almost thirty years ago, the passion of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton fueled the legend of romantic Puerto Vallarta during the filming of Night of the Iguana.

Pros: Like I said this property has a great beach but little else going for it. Lots of free nonmotorized activities (kayaks, sailboats, boogy boards, etc.) Lots of bars with cheap booze Half hour walk to Boucerias and it's shops Service is very good with a great staff overall Cons: We requested second or third floor non smoking king bed, and got first floor with twin beds, although they did let us move to a second floor king the second day. The resort has two buffets but the food is mostly po... Read more

A group of twelve of us stayed here for two weeks. I think the best way to do this review is a pros and cons list. First the pros: -clean & well maintained -beds were better than expected for a 3 star resort (even better if you ask for a foamy) -the staff are friendly & helpful -many restaurant selections -the resort is well laid out with plenty of room for all the guests so you never feel crowded -the beach is super nice and has plenty of chairs and lots of shade options -tips were appreciated... We stayed a week in early January and had a fantastic time. Yes the resort is older but the gardens are well kept, nicely painted and very clean. The staff are just wonderful and if you needed anything they were always willing to help, Raymond the el capitan at the Thai & Japanese restaurant was so gracious a host. We tried the Italian , Thai & Japanese restaurants & would say the Thai was the best. Yes it is frustrating to line up to get reservations early in the morning, but we were lucky on an... Read more

This was our 10th visit to this resort and it boasts of repeated guests. The rooms are basic but are very clean and that is all we need for a relaxing vacation. We don't spend our time in the room. We have read complaints from many who said there were no facecloths. We received them every day without problems. We had beautiful animal sculptures, made from towels, etc., left by the housekeeping staff. The grounds are well-maintained and staff work very hard and are extremely friendly. Abel Medin... Everything at this resort was great. Check in was quick bags were brought to our room immiately. Room was fine (not 5 star) but comfortable enough. I loved that the shower had lots of room and lots of water pressure. There are two huge restaurants for breakfast, lunch and supper. Food was great. There are 5 speciality restaurants.. Try them all. We loved the Tai and the Italian was pretty good as well. four pools to choose from....one that is for adults only..so you wont have a problem f... Read more

If you like eating wonderful food and being pampered and catered to by the nicest people, you will find all that and more here. Thank you Felix & Manuel! Lunch on Feb. 7, 2017. We are only at this awesome resort for one more day & then it is back to the real world. We have tried many different resorts in Mexico and so far this is the Best!

There are poor and good reviews of this resort, unfortunately we chose the latter. We thought the poor reviews were by disgruntled travelers, we made a mistake. Food wasn't great, luckily we didn't get sick as others did, pillows and mattresses were well used. Though we paid extra at booking for a ocean front top floor room we were on ground level till midway through the vacation. As for entertainment, we went only one night, seating was on cement bleachers, there was some plastic patio... Read more

We choose this Resort due to it's location and price. I like the fact that on the west coast you get lots of sunshine with no rain, and very few cloudy days. Resort: As many reviews have stated, the people make this resort fun to return to!! You see them working to improve the grounds and buildings. We stayed in building 4, closer to the lobby which gave access to the beach and Tropical buffet. Food: Since we stayed for 28 days, we found that the food was OK. There were theme nights which helped... Read more

Arriving here felt like returning home to a place I fell in love with on my first visit. We even stayed in the same room as previously, in building 4 on the 3rd floor with a magnificent view over the resort and out to the ocean! If your vacation needs are elevators, face cloths, bar fridges and drinks served to you down on the beach, don't come here. If you can live without those types of amenities, this is a perfect spot to stay and immerse yourself in local culture. If you want to meet fri... Read more
