Three words that describe Hotel Catedral are LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. The Hotel has great views of downtown, the Sierra Madre, and, of course, the Cathedral. It is surrounded by restaurants, bars, art galleries and boutiques. Guests will be given access to our exclusive Beach Club. Just a few blocks from the hotel at the popular ``Los Muertos`` Beach, called the ``Amapa Sunset Beach Club``, they will receive preferential treatment as guests of Hotel Catedral.

Hotel Catedral offers numerous modern conveniences and upscale amenities, such as complimentary wireless Internet access, large flat screen televisions, seventy-two TV channels, in-room safety security box, cellular phones, business center, library and more. You can start off your day with a delicious continental breakfast, served between 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Lounge...another great place in Hotel Catedral to relax outside of your room.

The relaxing intimacy at the property is enhanced by traditional Mexican furniture, softened with hand embroidered cushions from different regions of Mexico. Throughout its halls and stairs, as in every room, you will always find a detail that evokes the unique spirit of Mexico. Textiles, artworks and handcrafts from the states of Oaxaca, Chiapas, Hidalgo or the surrounding region, are key elements in the decor.

The church bells are ringing, kids are going to school, neighborhood dogs are greeting each other with tails wagging. Coffee - the smell of coffee is in the air. Itâ??s wonderful. I wanted someplace close to shop for my favorite type of blouse. I found it. I love the quiet water feature in the outdoor patio/reception area. The colors and feel of old Mexico is wonderful. And comfortable. Rosie, the beautiful and gracious receptionist, speaks English. And doesnâ??t mind the broken Spanish o... Read more

My mom and I stayed for 4 nights this past May and really enjoyed the hotel and the price. The location was close to both the Centro district with the gallery walks and also to the Zona Romantica with all the funky restaurants and shops. Adjacent to the Rio Cuale as well. Very bare bones and not fancy, but a great deal for what you are paying! Side note - room did not come with a blow dryer and a couple of other "standard" US amenities, but if you ask, they may have them available. :-)

The location is good but i think it is rather overpriced, marketed as a boutique hotel while i classify it as a guesthouse. main reason is that you can hear sounds in the hall and room next to you quite well. I felt i got a backpacker treatment by first being told the hard to believe reply that the cheapest room wasn't available even though it was available at booking.com. that does sound like a convenient lie, doesn't it. then we got a room that looked like the worst one. it was smaller than t... This was a nice hotel if you wanted to be down town, close to the malecon and away from the hotel zone, nice cute hotel boutique. I decided not to stay at one of my usual Hilton or Starwood properties, because I wanted to be in this area and experience more of the town and not just the hotel. This was just for a quick one night stay before heading out to Sayulita and Imanta in Punta de Mita, it was a great idea.

We loved this place, I would definitely come back here! I loved all the artwork everywhere and the cozy couches as you walked in with the hanging plants. The man at the reception, I forgot his name, was amazing, very nice, very professional, and also spoke french, so we exchanged a few lines. The room was a great size for the 2 of us, clean and cozy, and a nice bathroom. There was a safe too, but we didn't end up using it. The safe was in the closet, which had a couple shelves and hangers, which ... Read more

This hotel is good value in an excellent location. The staff are extremely helpful and know all the best restaurants and bars - There isn't a restaurant. The Malecon (seafront) is an easy block away. Swimming beaches are a 15/20 minute walk or a ferry trip. Try to get a room that cannot be viewed into from the hotel balcony.

We used this hotel as our base for discovering the heart of Puerto Vallarta. The building is old and the rooms smaller, but that only added to the charm of the property. The staff were very helpful suggesting places to eat and providing directions as the hotel does not have a restaurant. The view from the rooftop balcony is breathtaking and you never lose track of time as the quarterly bells from the nearby church can be heard through the day (they do stop for the nights). This property is far e... Read more

We booked here as our regular haunt was full that weekend passing through PV> I was worried about the fact there was no pool,, but it was alright as it was not too hot at that time. This old style posada hotel is right in the midst of the great mix of shops along the Rio Cuale. It is a quick couple minutes to the melacon and 10 mins walk at most the Playa Muertos, and 10 mins to the great restaurants, galleries and shopping by the Cathedral. The room was cute, bright, and the bed was comfortable.... Read more

This is a older hotel in a very good location if your spending time in the old town or the beach. The hotel is kept squeaky clean by a nice staff. There is a nice courtyard and rooftop overlook. There are only stairs to reach the upper floors and the hot water takes a few minutes to reach the shower outlet. We would stay here again.

If you're going to come to PV, highly (and encouragingly!) recommend you stay at Catedral Vallarta :) After the hustle and bustle getting to Mexico, you immediately feel the Catedral charm as step into the hotel. Wonderful people, beautiful space, walkable location and quiet & clean rooms. Muchas gracias! Me encanta!
