Location

Excellent down town location, within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the famous `Malecon` in the heart of Puerto Vallarta.
Located in the heart of the most traditional area of the Old Vallarta, Playa Los Muertos, only 3 minutes away from downtown and 20 minutes from the International Airport.

Why Stay Here

In addition to the beauty of this spectacular setting, the inherent warmth and friendliness of the locals have attracted a lively expatriate community from the United States, Canada, and Europe, who in turn make vacationers from those countries feel right at home.
Fortunately though, the town has retained its quaint charm. Picturesque colonial and whitewashed buildings, cobblestone streets that wind in and out, red Spanish tile roofs, and a brilliant profusion of flowers and jungle-like flora differentiate Puerto Vallarta from any other destination.

Resort Details

The hotel has two buildings, one faces the ocean and the other lies across the street. The second building has a rooftop spa tub and suntan terrace.
The hotel features comfortable facilities including:

  • Beach
  • Private Umbrellas
  • Safety deposit boxes
  • Fax service
  • Medical service on call.
  • Beach Club Amapa Sunset Restaurant with room service from 8:00 - 11:00 pm

Nearby

Tropical forested mountains and mineral rich volcanic slopes appear to literally rise from the sea and 100 miles of mountain ringed golden coastline hugs the stunningly beautiful Bay of Banderas. The country`s broadest and deepest natural bay, the Bay of Banderas teems with aquatic life that many visitors will likely discover on an eco-tour (or perhaps sample at one of the city`s amazing seafood restaurants!). The bay`s many blessings - dozens of beaches, sparkling sunshine, and clear blue water ideal for snorkeling and swimming - are sheer magnets for visitors.

Overall, a nice basic hotel. However, bad security. Within 18 hours, our room was stolen of an envelope of money in our dresser. The room cannot be accessed from the high balcony and the front door is a keyless entry system. Staff were the only ones in the room. We hadn't had a chance to put our valuables in the safety deposit boxes at the front desk, but this should be done as soon as you check in. Room was clean and the small kitchenette was a good feature. Loud beach noise up until aro... Read more

We got a Ocean View Suite & the room was huge with a balconey overlooking the ocean. Balconey had a stove & sink plus table. We had a full size fridge 7 and a king & queen bed which were partitioned off from each other & also a fold out couch. Room was clean & shower very nice. The location was fantastic - right in the middle of everything - only a few blks from the Malecon. Would highly recomend this place, Get a room as high as possible for the view - we were in 305 - the 4th floor was not ope... Read more

Brief review: location, location, location! friendly and helpful front desk; beautiful views from roof deck and ocean-facing rooms. King bed was firm and comfortable. Balconies were a treat. Convenience store (for bottled water and sundries) right across the street.

We have stayed here many times and have been more than satisfied. It's not luxurious by any means, but it's location, staff and price are hard to beat. The standard suites have basic kitchens on sizable balconies with million dollar ocean views.....they are an extra room really. The regular rooms are on the street side of the hotel....they have window AC units, no balcony or views, but are really cheap if you just need a place to sleep. There's lots to like here.....powerful split unit AC, flat... Read more

First thing, we reserved and paid for a Standard Suite. Was told when we got there that the only thing available was on the ground floor but if we wanted to cough up another 30 bucks, we could move up one flight. We paid it but it left a sour taste in my mouth. The room is very spartan. It was noisy, it would be nice if you could close the bathroom window, though if you shut the bathroom door that helped with the truck noise early in the morning. I did love the balcony but could the chairs b... Read more

Expedia stated we had a kitchenette, when we arrived there was none in our room. We showed them our reservation but the clerk said "no" we don't have one available and it would be extra. After much whining on my part they gave me a mini fridge in my room. The room was clean, had a balcony with a view, comfy bed and clean bathroom. On the downside the neighbouring hotels central air fan/motor never shut off, it roared 24/7, the hotel advertises that it is on the beach but the restaurant downstair... Read more

Hotel is a cozy small hotel, where staff is some what friendly and helpful. I got a back room and room was very tired but you get for what you pay. If you can pay extra for ocean views, DO IT! I back rooms, if you do not care to be seeing by people walking in the hallway then you are fine, back view is Ok too. Room from 1 to 10 cleanliness and general amenities is a 6. Location is a 10. And since Vallarta nights down town are way noisy , the hotel is relative quite until morning service trucks s... Read more

After spending the first two nights in a not-that-nice room on the ground level, we were moved to the second floor where we really enjoyed the room and our stay. (The first room was right next to the road and didn't smell nice and was noisy. There was an ocean view over the roof of the downstairs restaurant. The patio was always wet from dripping AC units above, and there were a lot of pigeons.) However, we were moved to the second floor and thought the room was more than adequate. The staf... Read more

Check in was a breeze. We were in room 105, facing the bay. Loved sitting on the balcony, sipping on nice Americano coffee, and having a smoke, looking onto the beach. Wow. As many have mentioned already, the room was not fancy. If I wanted fancy, I would have stayed in Cement Land, that's what my snowbird friends call the area with all the new towers/resorts. No, thanks. Since the beach is practically below us, you will hear noise when you are on the balcony. But once you're in the room an... Read more

Once again we stayed at Emperador PVR. It is just the best hotel in the area. Nice suites ( choose that one) with the most wonderful view over the bay and beach. The staff is great the maid who came every day did a woulderful job. Special thanks to the saff at the reception, always polite and very helpful. The beach is great and the location is the best. We will come back again John and Henrik from Denmark
