A gorgeous mansion With only 10 to 12 rooms/suites, Casona de la China Poblana is quite stunning. Thoroughly modern, yet holds the air of something ancient. We were there for a night, ate at the dining room where both service and food was excellent. Yes, Some of the rooms do face the street, but it did not bother us sensitive sleepers at all, as there is sufficient cover for the windows, including strong wood doors. The pace of the hotel is in keeping with the pace of Puebla; relaxing old world ... Read more

I loved my stay at the Casona de la China Poblana. I had the China Poblana junior suite and thought it must be the best room with the two balconies. It, like the hotel, is a great blend of Colonial and modern. Everyone was wonderful, service was great. Food, under the direction of charming Captain Flores, was very good. The location is perfect for exploring wonderful Puebla. I am an older female solo traveler and have traveled throughout Mexico which I love at Christmas. The only caveat is that ... Read more

A very warm welcome from the hotel staff and a shot of very good tequila to start our stay was excellent. We had a beautiful room, the Samarcanda Suite, which had not only a very spacious bedroom with beautiful bathroom and shower, but also an upper level, also very spacious, and beautifully furnished with comfortable sofas and a wide screen TV. We immediately felt at home and very comfortable. Outside our room the wide balcony overlooks the restaurant courtyard below and is furnished with co... Read more

The architecture is amazing, more than 400 years old and very well preserved. The restaurant has delicious food and reasonable price, not too high and not too low price for what it offers. I recommend the Meztizo Breakfast which is an Omelette filled with chilaquiles, exquisite.

This review is for a stay from October 11-13, 2016. This property is located only blocks away from the beautiful and bustling zocalo of Puebla. It is located just far enough that much of that hustle and bustle dissipates upon arrival to your room. While there is street noise, it is Mexico. We stayed in room #6 (Catarina de San Juan) which faced upon the church across the street (while this is a very busy street during the day we were not affected by street noise at night minus the occasional em... This is absolutely an outstanding hotel and restaurant. You can not ask for better service. Arnulfo at the restaurant is the most professional and attentive person you can imagine. After dining at the Purificadora and CasaReyna - where the waiters were rude and did not show up for most of our dinner - Arnulfo and his servers were absolutely amazing. We had the best food in all of Puebla, we will be back!! This is the best place to stay and dine in Puebla!!!!!!

We were traveling through Puebla and we wanted to stay near the old, historic square. This was one of the favorites. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. We were worried about parking our big truck and they have free parking included. It is an underground parking lot directly under the hotel. It is VERY SECURE! It is near the main square that is beautiful at night. We walked to the Tavelaria store and manufacturing plant. They gave us a great tour with a nice, English speaking guide. ... Read more

Really a beautifully restored place, with unique gorgeous rooms. Breakfast came with the room, and was unbelievably varied and good. Room was very clean. Room came with robes and slippers! Great, central location. The only thing wanting was maybe more advice from the front desk about where to go and what to see.

We had the best experience at trying the specialties of the food from Puebla! We tried a course menu that was very cheap and we even took two bottles of the best wine. The restaurant is located in the hotel in the center yard of a big building. The day that we had dinner a musician was playing nice music and the environment was perfect. For sure we have to repeat this experience.

The hotel has a good location, albeit if you are first time in Puebla, you may struggle with orientation. Rooms are very spacious with high ceiling. They have a free parking. They have a restaurant with a buffet breakfast and other meals as well. The food is ... edible. They have a screeching wooden floor. Which is quite annoying, if you do not want to wake up you spouse. Brush up your Spanish before going to this hotel.
