Okay, so it wouldn't be everybody's 5, but I love this hotel. It's a little worn at the seams and that's why I love it. Stayed there four years ago last time. I keep getting drawn back to it's history and beauty. This time a brief stay on my way back through Puebla, as there was no room at the inn on the first part of our trip. This hotel is rather large and therefore is a good place for educational groups and conventions, sometimes acing out the individual traveler. But that's another thi... Read more

On a recent tour in Mexico we stayed at this hotel twice. It is a historic building near the city centre and opposite a lovely baroque although earthquake-damaged church. Many tours stay there. Of all the hotels our tour stayed in, the service here was the most disappointing. The included breakfast is skimpy and not good. On our first stay we occupied a large rather cold room with two large beds on 1st floor and a window facing the church. On our return for the second stay they put us (a couple)... Read more

We had stayed at this hotel about 9 years ago. We returned. It is a great hotel. It feels comfortable and it is right in the middle of things. Very secure. Great restaurant. We will return. It is right beside the University, so there may be some loud events...but it is always interesting. The evenings are quiet. A nice place to be.

Unfortunately it was just a one-night-stay because the rooms were perfect, spacious with an outstanding architecture. Moreover, this amazing hotel counts one of the oldest elevador in all Mexico. It might not be as fast as the new ones but its was for me an experience itself. About the breakfast, it was delicious and we had more food that we needed. You should definitely have your stay in this hotel of Puebla. Its great and well located to go for a walk in the old town.

Close to "Zócalo" excellent for medium size groups. Restaurant food is excellent. Try the traditional "Mole Poblano" any time or "Chiles Enogada" around September month. I will definitely return. Not for luxury travelers. Excellent for people that doesn't require a fancy room to enjoy their stay.

I recently stayed almost 2 weeks at this hotel, staying in rooms on all 3 floors. The staff is top notch. The food was honestly the best I had in Puebla. I tried to eat at least one meal a day there. I tried several of the fancier restaurants in Puebla, which typically tasted worse, were much more expensive, and had smaller portions (not to mention one had a hair in my food (NOT at this hotel). Why should you stay here? 1) Location: This is one block east of the main square (Zocalo). I wo... Read more

I stayed for 2 nights here with a couple of friends, so we booked a room for 3 which was actually big, the place was clean, maybe the only drawback was that the matresses were old so they weren't that firm. Besides that everything was ok, the food at the restaurant was nice, it's perfectly located, and a bonus which i think not everybody knows is that you can go to the rooftop of the building and it has a really nice view from the churches, the cathedral and parts of the city

I arrived with a small tour group. Our rooms weren't ready, so we were directed to go in to lunch. It was a set meal. There were two other tour groups, no individual customers. There seems to be a reason, but I'll go into that in a review of the restaurant. By the time lunch was over, more tour groups had arrived and our rooms were ready. Lots and lots of tour people. Our room is large and comfortable, with very high ceilings. The beds are hard, but there are plenty of pillows. There is tub with... Read more

The family and I enjoyed our 2 nights and 3 days at this hotel. Location is perfect. Parked and never had to get back into our vehicle. The TV did not work but with free internet our kids were happy. I'd suggest bring a pillow. We will be back!!
