The accommodations I had at the Ark Hotel Hiroshimaeki Minami are the worst I experienced during my trek to lovely Japan. My room had no air conditioning, but was suppose to. The room was very small, a bit uncomfortable and dismal. The hotel is not too far from the train station. Food at the restaurant was okay. I would not stay there again.

A 5 minute from the station and easy to find. Great location. The lobby is a little dated but ok. The rooms are small and the bathroom is not very big and a bit caravanish. But everything worked and was there and very comfortable. We didn't try the restaurant but met two Australians who did and loved it. I would recommend it, it was a great price and perfect when you are travelling and seeing the country

The beds were SO hard. The air conditioner did not work. We asked for a different room explaining that the a/c was broken and they let us switch rooms, but it was no better. So we went back to the front desk and they gave us a box fan. It was still so hot that I didn‚??t sleep at all. Also the bathroom‚??s are not connected to the actual bed rooms, you have to go out to the ‚??mud room‚?? where you take your shoes off and go through another door to get to the toilet and shower. The room is very... Read more

Whilst the location of this hotel is good (it is a 10min walk from Hiroshima Station), the hotel itself is quite old and dated. Furnishing are very basic, beds quite uncomfortable and although we were given a non smoking room it smelt strongly of stale cigarette. Unfortunately would not return to this hotel.

Very good and convenient location, walking distance from the train station, helpful staff even with limited understanding of English, wifi most inefficient, bedding was stained had to get it replaced which was not very welcoming.

I spent 3 nights in this hotel 1. Location: close to the Hiroshima station(5 mins walk), and the station for the Hiroshima train just 3 mins walk from the hotel(Line 1/2/5/6). Easy for tourists to go into downtown. 2. Room is tiny but cozy, though the soundproof is really an issue, I can hear anyone who is talking outside of my room. But still, the bed and the AC all quite ok. 3. Big bathroom in Japanese style on the rooftop. ITS A PLUS after you walking outside all day in around 40‚??..that's s... Read more

Almost 10 minutes walk from the terminal. Room was clean but small. Wifi and internet connect was very bad. It took us more than one hour to set up the connection even with the assistance by the staff. And the signal was weak. The staff are polite but not enthusiastic to help out. Breakfast provide basic choices, not much variety and the female staff in the canteen doesn't show hospitality. The public bath in the female side is very petite, not like the photos they showed on the hotel page, wh... Read more

We took 3 rooms for our party of 6: 2 semi-doubles and 1 twin room, all in the main building, for 3 nights. Just based on the location alone, we can overlook the less than perfect public bath - if this is important for you, as it is one of the few hotels offering this in Hiroshima (note this is a public bath and not hot spring - difference in the quality of the water, and comparing to others we have been to, it just doesn't seem as clean, perhaps the ladies public bath is too small); we can o...
