The temperature regulation is not working, the toilets are very dirty (if they even work on the ground floor), the lunch served for congresses is very dissappointing (maybe the dinners are ok, didn't dare to try). The staff behind they bar is friendly and welcoming, but the rest hadn't given any smile for 4 days. Chairs in the venue are old and sitting on them is a hell for a day. Gettinginto contact is a drama too, website didn't work for contact, when I called they did not speak english, and e... Read more

Our room was fine, on the main road but we weren't bothered by noise. Breakfast fine if a little boring. Eat at the nearby Osteria Re Pitittedi on a side-street a little further up the Corso Gelone on the other side. Staff really helpful and friendly

Located 15 minutes on foot from the little romantic Iceland of Ortigia. Great shopping and dining all around the hotel and on the way to Ortigia. Room is small and old. Shower is leaking all over the floor. Old analog tv :) Good value for the cost and great helpful staff

I had a nice big room with no problems, fridge a/c everything work. The hotel is located right near a commercial district there were plenty of restaurants, bars etc. nearby including a grocery store only a short walk away. It is close to the ancient archaeological park where the geek theater is located. It's a bit of a further walk to Ortygia if you want to head there but definitely dooable. Breakfast was pretty good with a nice selection of pastries but no hot food

I made arrangements to stay at the Jolly Aretusa after another reservation I made for a group of 16 college students fell through. I had stayed at the Jolly Aretusa many, many years before, and I knew that the location was very convenient to both Ortygia as well as the Archaeological Museum and Park. I was not quite sure what to expect, but I was stunned upon my arrival to see that I hardly recognized the building as everything had been renovated. My entire group and I were delighted by everythi... Read more

We have just returned home from a five day visit to Siracuse. Our stay at the Jolly Palace had not been pre booked; in fact it was a heavenly sent haven for us when we found that the previously booked hotel was a disaster. We were given two very well appointed rooms on the 5th floor with two big windows, a huge comfortable bed and a spacious modern marble bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and shower. The service was impeccable and the staff who spoke perfect English could not do enough for us. Break... Read more

This is probably one of the worst hotels that I have ever stayed in. The hotel itself is very outdated and the rooms look like they haven't been updated in 30 years. The shower is quite a time saver - it sprays water all over the room so that you can shower and sit on the toilet at the same time. You don't have to wait for the Zombie Apocalypse - the lighting in the bathroom makes you look like it has already happened. Overall I would give it negative stars!

The Aretuso is regarded as being in the centre of the city but it depends on what one would classify as "in the centre". The Aretuso is just off a short shopping street about 4 minutes away from the Archeological Neaopolis site. However if you want to go to the old part of the city, one would have about a 20/25 minute walk which is pleasant and all flat ground. The rooms are very clean and teh staff are pleasant and willing to help. The restaurant staff love to talk about their lives, how they l... Read more

Stayed here for one night as part of a group. We had a lovely, large comfortable room and the food was not bad either. Location was not central and this was a drawback. Staff were very helpful, assisting us with directions to a pharmacy and grocery store and getting us a padlock for one of our suitcases. Good for a couple of nights in Syracusa but make sure you have have your transport lined up to get around to the sights from this hotel.
