This hotel is great! The staff are brilliant, really helpful and for those visiting from elsewhere they all speak great English. Of special note, there is a barman there who is awesome. Including mixing his own signature cocktails and for New Year making a prosecco cream, it was really special! The hotel is always really clean and our room was great too. We'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Visited for the England's game against Italy in the 6 Nations. This is a beautiful hotel in a great area. Across the river from the main central area there are plenty of cool bars and restaurants a short walk from the hotel but everything is accessible on foot. Recommended.

This hotel was an old convent and a small, nice chapel is still inside of the hotel. As far as I know nuns are still running the place. They have beautiful and bigger rooms in the lower floors, but also smaller rooms in the upper floors. Terrace is amazing! Continental Breakfast is good and people at the Bar are nice

Beautiful building with many features of the original convent retained, including a lovely secluded garden to eat your breakfast in. Nice rooms, friendly staff. The location is excellent - quiet, but close to many good restaurants & bars in the busy Trilussa area of Trastevere, with the Ponte Sisto then giving quick access to central Rome.

This hotel is quiet. And the hotel has a pretty garden. That's all. Managers do not smile. They are not very consistent in the way they treats their customers. Overall attitude and service of staff was unsatisfied.

The Donna Camilla Savelli Hotel is not quite "a former" convent, since it still has a nun or two who live on the premises and who might invite you to attend mass in the attached church. Access by car or cab is easy, meaning that a GPS can find it, although the hotel is in a traffic restricted area. It is located in Trastevere, the coolest, mostly pedestrian neighbourhood of Rome, is minutes from the Vatican, the Tiber and dozens of great restaurants and bars. And yet it has a huge enclosed, pe... Read more

Worst possible treatment ever!!!! After a wonderful week in Tuscany, our plan was to stay at the Donna Camilla Savelli Hotel for our last night in Rome. We had made reservations three months in advance for three rooms and received confirmation for the stay. The day before our arrival we received a phone call informing us they had no rooms available and had relocated our party to another hotel. We were shocked and so disappointed. Their excuse was a glitch with the hotels computer system not dow... Read more

I had booked this hotel months in advance. I recieved confirmation via email the day before my stay. That same day I also received a phone call from the hotel stating they were canceling my reservation because they had over-booked. I suddenly found myself in another country with no place to stay. They made a reservation for me at another hotel that was simply awful...it was in an unsafe-for-walking neighborhood, very tired rooms and my bathroom had a sink full of bugs. Do not plan to stay at... Read more

This hotel is quite beautiful, the location is great, and the customer service excellent. It is in a very walkable neighborhood and not far from the many attractions that Rome has to offer. The photos on their website do not do it justice. Breakfast that was served was fantastic. Many options to choose from. The rooftop terrace had only a couple of chairs on it when we were there and there is no bar service up there. You can however get a drink at the bar on the main level and take it t... Read more

I would have given this hotel a five star rating but for one thing. Hotel rating The Good stuff Beautiful building - restored 17th century convent Location - calm and quiet but close to hustle and bustle of Rome. Twenty minute walk to the Colosseum a bit more to the Vatican City. Free use of a mobile device - phone / maps. Which was great for ringing home. Room - bright, airy and spotlessly clean. Breakfast - excellent choice and food. We are in the garden every day, wonderful. Most of th... Read more
