Location is good, walking distance to attractions in Ancient Rome. Across from the Trevi Fountain means loud noises and crowds all day long. The bathroom in our room was so small, we could not take a shower standing. There is only a handheld shower and we had to take a bath or sit in the tub to shower. The room is okay size for a European hotel, small but enough. If you are just looking for a place to crash that has a convenient location, this is a good choice. But if you want to relax after a d... Good hotel, we were fortunate to have a room which overlooked the trevi fountain. Breakfast was buffet style and very good and plenty of choices. The fountain was loud but didn't stop us from sleeping, it maybe a little different in the summer with the window open. Ideal ly placed with walking distance to Colleseum, Spanish steps, Pantheon etc. Staff were helpful, arranged our shuttle bus back to airport for us. The only thing that may have been useful would be coffee making facilities, but over... Read more

Yes, right in the center and opposite to Trevi fountain. Little bit noisy at nights but it worths to stay there as it is just in the center of Rome. The location of the hotel gives a chance of visiting everywhere by walking. The rooms are comfortable but the bathroom is rather small. As the building itself is very old it is different to stay at a place like that.

We visited Rome from the 25-27 of October. It was really beautiful weather, cool enough for a tshirt during the day and long sleeve shirt at night or a light jacket. The hotel is wonderful. We took a door to door car service from the airport at 17â?¬ a person. Was really the best deal and we didn't have to walk from the train station to our hotel. I had a large backpack and my wife a small duffel bag. Rome is covered in cobblestones so the rolling bags don't help. The hotel: Service was fantas... Read more

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights before a med cruise. What a beautiful authentic hotel. Fabrizio the manager was most charming and gave us a run down on the history of the building and also gave us coins to throw in the fountain and the room was lovely. Not huge but bigger than expected for Europe. We even had a bath !!!! We had a room on the 1st floor over looking the Trevi Fountain. You could have thrown a coin from the window it's that close. I believe it's the only hotel that is ri... Read more

After we had missed a booking at another hotel we were stranded in the middle of Rome in the evening with three children. Hotel Fontana found us two adjacent rooms at short notice and we really enjoyed our short stay. The hotel has quite a traditional Italian feel and is not that spacious but the service is good and the room facilities and bathrooms are excellent. The breakfast was particularly impressive, not just for the amazing views from the terrace of the fountains, but quality and vari... Read more

This is a good location for walking to most attractions in Rome. Being on the Trevi square, the area is very busy day and night. Service was good and pleasant. It has old world charm with most modern conveniences. Our room was on the front, directly facing the fountain, a beautiful view. If you are a light sleeper, you might prefer one on the other side of the building.

We had 2 couples with 2 rooms. My wife and I had a good room with view of the fountain. Our friends room was poor even though they faced the fountain too. They were unhappy with the quality and cleanliness of the room ie. leaking plumbing in the bathroom. After complaining they were given another room that was much better. WI first worked sort of. Front desk staff were aloof. Be warned the noise goes on late into the night with 500 to 600 people always there. Also each morning at 5 am they pre... Read more

The hotel is situated directly opposite the Trevi fountain. The rooms are small but very clean. The room we first had a lovely bathroom, one which you had to step down into it but going to the toilet in the night I nearly fell down them plus it had a bath with a shower over it which didn't work very well. We asked to be moved. The second room was much bigger with a shower. The breakfast room is right at the top of the hotel and if you can grab a window seat the view of the Trevi is magical. The... I saw this hotel nearly 20 years ago on a previous trip, and decided that I would want to stay there one day. On this trip, we booked 4 nights there. We had room 106, which afforded a FANTASTIC 24-hour view of my favorite landmark in Rome. We would lean on the windowsill for hours at a time, free of the bother of the omnipresent large crowds of tourists, and enjoy the beauty of the sculptures - or just plain people-watch. It was also convenient to walk to shopping and restaurants from this c... Read more
