We stayed at the Giulio Cesare for a week and we could not have been happier with our stay. Knowing we would be visiting with my brother in law -a priest- near St. Peter's, we booked this hotel based on the recommendation of my sister who stayed here many years ago. While there are many choices closer to the many attractions, we loved the location in a residential area away from the noise and crowds. The rooms, public spaces, breakfast area and garden area are spotless and the staff works hard t... Read more

From the beautiful doors as you walk in, to the charming receptionist, cozy bar with comfy chairs and a piano, to the beautiful rooms, large relaxing garden almost like in Eden.... All was perfect. Oh, I forgot to mention the abundant breakfast with fresh puffy rolls, salads, meats, pastries.... It was so hard not to overeat. I can't wait to stay there again.

we stayed at the Guilio Cesare September 19th and 20th. What we really liked is the hotel is in a fairly quiet mostly residential area yet within walking distance to many of the attractions. I believe it took about 10-15 min. to walk to St. Peter's Basilica area. The metro is nearby too. There are many good restaurants within a 3-4 block area that were not stuffed with tourists, rather locals, families and friends. Our room could use a little updating and was a little small. That said i... Read more

We stayed here for two nights prior to a cruise. The location is excellent in my opinion. A ten minute walk to the Vatican, ten minutes to Piazza del Popolo and other sites. Very quiet neighborhood near shopping and restaurants. We had a standard room which was on the smaller side but was clean, well appointed and functional in all regards. We walked form here to many of the sites in Rome including the Coliseum, Roman Forum, Vatican and Trevi Fountain. We will be booking again soon!!

The location is perfect to walk to the Vatican, colosseum, and other sites. You are 5 min max from the metro & close to tons of excellent bars, restaurants & shops. Our room had lots of stairs to get to it so be mindful if you have luggage or bad knees. Two full beds pushed together to make a queen. Not very comfortable & linens & pillows were not soft. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling & water pressure in the shower was so hard it caused an abrasion on my skin. The drains in the bathroom did... Read more

Stayed here for two nights and it's a lovely hotel, room was massive with a separate living area to the bedroom, all very well presented and with great facilities. The hotel is in a great location very close to the main square and night life. Highly recommended

Not in the heart of the city at all but you are saving money for more of what Rome has to offer. If you're on the 5th floor, the heat is intense and nothing can be done to lower it. The breakfast was mediocre at best, no fresh fruit and really nothing changed each day.

Lovely hotel with an Italian flavor It has beautifully decorated rooms, well appointed bathrooms, and a lovely lobby and garden bar. It's in a residential area of Rome, off the beaten path. It isn't too far from Piazza Popolo, and within a half hour walking distance from the Vatican. It's close to the Tiber River, but not close to any delis, bars, restaurants or stores.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Giulio Cesare. The room was lovely, the bed comfortable, the breakfast really good. Most importantly, though, the service was terrific. When we had to leave early in the morning to catch a plane, the hotel prepared a breakfast bag for us to take with us. Then when I realized that I had left my jacket in the room (after returning to the US), Pasquale La Rocca went out of his way to make sure I got it back . I really appreciated that! I will definitely stay in t... Read more
