Room was fine and clean (especially the bathroom) . Bed was okay...pillows were really uncomfortable - they were huge!! Breakfast wasn't nice - was greasy and not worth the money. fine for what it was but not worth the price

Just arrived with a taxi that wouldn't accept card payment. Walked in to get cash at the reception desk where I was confronted with the fact that the hotel has no 'cash out' service and I should use the ATM machine around the corner. Rediculous.

I stayed at this hotel whilst on a business trip to Dublin. On first impression, the hotel was just fine. The reception and bar area was clean and tidy. However, when I got to my room things changed. It was very obvious a previous guessed had vomited down the wall and whilst it had been cleaned up it had left a stain down the wall. The room obviously needed decorating. At breakfast, the bacon was so pale it looked like chicken. I took one piece and found it to be tasteless and so had little op... Read more

A two day visit from Edinburgh for the Irish Champion Hurdle. Had read some mixed reviews, but have to say the hotel was excellent in relation to our group's visit. Arrived at 10.30 am and room was available immediately. Spotless and very comfortable. A warm bar, quick service and a relaxing evening after the races and dinner out. Outstanding value and everyone commented positively in relation to hotel value. Breakfast excellent, check-out quick and an excellent nights sleep. We will use again ... Read more

The hotel itself is excellent. Comfortable beds, decent bar and restaurant and nice breakfast. Stayed here for leopardstown races which is just 20 mins walk from here or ?6 roughly in a taxi. The only draw back here is the temperature in the room, even in January I found it hard to sleep both night as it's extremely warm and is very noisy with the windows open as very close to motorway. The hotel has an air coach connection literally outside the hotel door which connects to Dublin airport and ... Read more

The hotel isn't bad. The carpet could use replacing but otherwise, it's a decent hotel. My problem was with the room. There was a lot of noise of people walking around and banging on stuff. I realized that it was the noise coming from downstairs as I was on the first floor. It's the noise from the restaurant and kitchen. I stayed 2 nights and both nights a loud, consistent thump-thump-thump would come and go for hours on end. I think it's the sounds of the laundry. Regardless, with all of the no... Read more

The Clayton at Leopardstown would never be described as scenic or pretty and it will be a struggle to find post cards of the local area. Nevertheless for a business stop over this hotel fits the bill in my opinion. Although my room/ensuite was a little dated (second floor) it was clean and comfortable enough. I slept very well here despite a noisy wind blowing through the bathroom extractor fan. No complaints about the food but a suggestion would be to add more variety to the in room dining me... The Clayton Hotel (formerly the Bewley's Hotel) in Leopardstown is a good quality hotel located in the built up Dublin suburbs. This is a large business-focused hotel. Bedrooms are clean but basic. We stayed in a family room with one double bed and two single beds. The hotel is quite well maintained but certainly one gets the impression that it is always very busy. There is a coffee stand in the foyer but the prices are high, even by Dublin standards. There is plenty parking and Aircoach bus sto... Read more

I am just home from my stay in Clayton. I was really looking forward to the stay which we bought my family for xmas present to go alongside the races.we arrived at 11 and our rooms were all ready (3 rooms). While waiting for the family we had a coffee in the lobby which was lovely. When returning from the races, we went to the bookmaker bar for dinner (main restaurant closed on Sunday). The 'duty manager' provided extra menus but left table unclean. We went to the bar to order drinks which was f... Read more

The Clayton Hotel at Leopardstown, South County Dublin is well located for the racecourse, a lot of commercial activity in the area and proximity to Blackrock in particular & Dublin City in general via the Luas tram system. It's a budget hotel, which means no hotel directory, water or tissues in your room but you do have a comfortable bed, free wifi and a very good bar. The food is unexceptional bordering on bad based on the breakfast buffet. For dinner there is a very good Thai restaurant next... Read more
