The Clontarf Castle is a wonderful building, beautifully kept and well presented. It is in a residential area and out of the city centre - which is about a 50 minute walk away or 10 mins in a taxi. It is quiet and peaceful. Staff are brilliant and the food in the restaurants is very nice. Breakfast is extremely nice. Room service is very nice and the food is extremely tasty and well presented. Beds are big and comfortable and the rooms are well maintained and clean. Very good indeed!

A great place with fantastic staff. Rooms were quiet and clean. Easy to get to public transport so you don't have to drive into Dublin. The concierge was so so helpful. He helped us plan our driving holiday. A great spot and the SCONES??.. best in the land.

Loved this hotel, and would highly recommend it to friends. Our suggestions are to serve a breakfast instead of the buffet, and to give a property layout map to guests to see where all the wonderful bars, lounges, restaurants are.

I have really mixed feelings about the place. We arrived early in the morning - around 7am. I had let them know ages in advance that this was the case. At noon we still were sitting in the lobby waiting for a room. Finally after begging they gave a place where we could rest- because I started getting quite ill.( I threw up once we got to the room). The smell of the place is what I think did it. Whatever they use in there the fragrance didn't agree with me. The breakfast was very good and apart ... Read more

Everything was truly lovely here, the room, the service, the food. The front desk had trouble finding our reservation from hotels.com and for the trouble of the wait while they sorted it out they upgraded us to a really lovely suite. I would go back in a heartbeat.

had a lovely stay at the Clontarf castle. Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, couldn't ask for more. Receptionist gave us an upgrade as it was my partners birthday and also brought us up a happy birthday treat. That was appreciated and made it all complete. Can totally recommend the hotel

Beautiful hotel and lovely staff! They were very helpful from getting us a taxi to recommending restaurants. The rooms were clean. We didn't eat at the restaurant on site but friends of ours did and they said it was excellent. I truly felt like I was staying in a castle! I have no complaints!

Visited this lovely hotel during a rugby weekend and had hoped to watch the match in a bar/lounge with other Ireland loving fans. It's just not that sort of place and for many that's a good thing. One might describe everything about the hotel as "very very civilised ". Very lovely lunch menu on offer and the staff were excellent. Food was very good but be warned; they don't stint on portions. So you need a good walk afterwards. The hotel itself is tucked away from the main thoroughfare but onl... Read more

Stayed at this hotel on the outskirts of Dublin in February 2017. Nice hotel in a rebuild/converted castle. Good room with four poster bed. Excellent service from all the staff, especially Vijay in the reception and Karen in the Knights Bar. Very nice (yet slightly expensive) breakfast. Good reasonably priced homey food served in the Knights Bar. Sadly, we didn't manage to get a table in the more posh Fahrenheit restaurant, it looked good though... Only negative thing I have to mention is the... Read more

Clontarf Castle is a historic castle that has been converted to a beautiful modern style hotel. The castle still has the charm, look and feel of the days of old but is equipped with the 21st century updates. The rooms range from the generous typical hotel style to the lavishly appointed luxury suites. They are decorated in a variety of assortments that range from many different periods of royalty and design. The particular room we choose was a deluxe variety for simplicity and ease of use since...
