On a return visit, gorgeous atmosphere throughout the hotel and bar. It's quaint and atmospheric, steeped in (and respectful of its) history. Superb staff, very attentive and responsive. I adore the huge beds, always sleep brilliantly! It's city centre so don't expect silence... But do expect cleanliness, history, and charm. It won't disappoint!

Lovely old school building in a very nice area of Dublin with bags of charm and original features intact. Staff were all very friendly and the bar staff were all lovely and chatty. Only had a starter each but the food was still lovely and plenty of choice drink wise. Traffic was terrble outside so decided to walk to 3 Arena took a different route back but made it in 20 minutes so a good location. Rooms were spotless, a very traditional decor throughout the hotel but possibly wouldnt suit any ot... Read more

The Schoolhouse Hotel bar is a super location for food and a few drinks before and after the rugby internationals at the Aviva Stadium. You can be in your seat in 15 minutes from the bar and it always attracts a good crowd of local and visiting fans. The bar has plenty TVs to the watch the other games and the food is fantastic. It is close enough to the stadium for convenience yet far enough away not to be over crowded so that you can??t get to the bar.

I'd booked several rooms last year but then had to cancel at short notice due to illness - the hotel was very helpful about it all, which is one good reason I booked again this year. Exellent service, in a great location, and very good value for money by Dublin standards. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and quiet. The downstairs bar is great, with excellent Guinness and food.

I made a booking for a king canopy room back in May as part of of a birthday weekend for my husband. We had tickets for the Rugby match at the Aviva stadium so wanted a hotel that was close and looked nice, I paid in full ?430 in advance which was quite a lot but realised that they always charge more for when matches are on and as it was a present was prepared to pay a premium. When we checked in however we were given a standard room on the lower floor. Once I realised this I went back to rece... Read more

My wife and I spent two nights at the Schoolhouse Hotel in September. We booked after studying the TA reviews. The hotel is very well located. About a 15 minute walk to Trinity College. The area seemed very safe during both the day and night. We walked all over Dublin from here. The hotel is very unique. Charming. The rooms were surprising large and the furniture was in good shape. The bed was very comfortable (a king). The bathroom was on the old fashion side but it was clean and what you woul... Read more

An old building with friendly helpful staff. Location is perfect if you like a walk to town centre...not far at all. Turn right and there is an excellent health food/coffee shop called The Punnet which is excellent. Corridors are dated but room was cozy with a super king size bed and ensuite. Bed was comfortable with good quality linen although I??m not mad on the trend of almost flat biscuit-shaped pillows. I would recommend an upgrade on these. Opening windows and a good powerful shower. Vint... Read more

We stayed in an executive canopy king room overlooking the street. The room was cozy with a comfortable bed. The noises from the streets weren't too loud and didn't really bother at all during the night. The building is really beautiful if you like a more old-fashioned style. We tried the restaurant only on breakfast, but you can get some decent food at the bar and the room service menu was ok too. The room has a water boiler. Still and sparkling water, cookies, instant coffee and tea were com... Read more
