The Imperial throws one back to the days of the Raj, when Brittania still ruled the waves. The rooms are well maintained and those on the first floor have been re-furbished. But even the older rooms, on the second floor, are in very good shape and do not give off the tired look. Service is impeccable but what is really interesting are the art pieces which takes the visitor back to the days of the Raj, when Maharajas, Nawabs and the British elite ruled India. Walk outside and you are in Janpath a... Read more

Stayed at this hotel for 3 days. Hotel truly defines the meaning of 'Luxury'. Huge & classy rooms, huge lawn & swimming pool. Hotel has a lot of furniture from the Britishers time. Corridors are filled with photo frames from the independence time. Loved the place. Definitely recommend if you can afford the rate.

In its heyday, way back when, during the post-Independence era, I bet this was one of THE places to visit, stay and hang-out, being in the heart of Delhi, and it is a bit of a Gilded Jewel, and still a throw back to â??Days of yesteryearâ??. Now however it is a bit dated (a lot actually). Tired, unkempt, unloved and in dire need of modernisation. We visited a number of other establishments (various well-known brands, which I will not identify) in the area and found them hopping, busy (bars and ... Read more

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our 3 week trip to India. The service was as good as one would expect for a hotel of this quality. In-house dining was very good (Albeit the portion sizes were very big!) and the bar was a very pleasant place to while away an hour or two. Breakfast was excellent

Stayed at The Imperial Hotel for our last night in Delhi, sorry to say Iď¸? was so disappointed! This was a special treat for us, as rather expensive. Arrived late and had delicious drinks in the bar and then dinner at 1911, this was awful, in fact the worst meal we had in India. Iď¸? ordered fish and chips which had obviously been previously fried and then microwaved, very hot but extremely tasteless and soggy. My sonâ??s meal wasnâ??t good either! Our rooms are lovely and clean, with high... Read more

Built in 1911 this hotel has become an institution, A little relic of the British Raj with exceptional service and modern India feel to it. Itâ??s the perfect place to retreat after braving the smog of Delhi which was terrible while we were there, surely they will have to do something about the air-quality or visitors will just stop coming. But this is a great place to meet for a drink, eat informal meal and simply watch the world go by. Great service and welcome, definitely recommend.
