This a fine establishment with very nice accommodation. The staff are friendly and very efficient. The food is good but not a huge range. Why this hotel does not score higher is that there is no charm or positive atmosphere about the place. It is all very functional but a bit cold for all that. The reception is efficient but not really warming and the accommodation at reception is not very comforting, with hard benches rather than soft couches. So you never get a "home" feeling about this place.... Read more

We stayed for a couple of nights in October. The hotel is lovely, gracious and peaceful right on the edge of the river. I had a wonderful sunset cruise followed by a great cooking class, all preceded by afternoon tea, or coffee in my case. The staff are friendly but courteous. The hotel is an oasis of calm in contrast to the hustle and bustle of the ferry and market outside, a wonderful place to relax. I felt quite safe wandering the streets on my own. The rooms are extremely well appointed. Th... Read more

Our family had a wonderful three night stay at the Brunton Boatyard. The service was outstanding - some of the best I have seen anywhere in the world. The outlook of the rooms was second to none. Looking out across the mouth of the harbour, there was always something happening. The ferry terminal next to the hotel was a hive of activity that was a delight to watch and did not disturb as at all. We ate several meals in the hotel as well and were very impressed with the quality and service. ... Read more

I had been so looking forward to our ‚??last night blow some cash at somewhere lovely‚?? trip to the bar at Brunton Boayard but sadly it was entirely underwhelming. The place looks lovely from the outside but was devoid of any character inside. We were the only guests in the bar for some time and neither of us could understand the semi cult status of this place. Service was OK, drinks were OK, prices were OK. Surprisingly no complimentary snacks were included but instead we were ‚??treated... Read more

A fantastic experience, alongside the other CGH Earth hotels that we stayed in during our tour of Kerala. Great location, attentive staff, Fabulous and huge suite over looking the river (ask for the one away from the ferry terminal). Easy to walk out of the gates into Kochi at night and we always felt safe walking around.

My wife and I stay at Brunton Boatyard for 3 nights in October 2017. This is an outstanding hotel. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, the staff are friendly and helpful, the location is great (ight on the waterfront, just a stroll from the famous Chinese fishing nets), but in our view the outstanding feature was the exceptional food in the restaurant each night ... this was the best food we had anywhere in India.

My wife and I spent 7 nights at Brunton where we enjoyed amazing local food in the history restaurant. The quality of the food prepared by Sebastian in the kitchen was cooked and flavoured to perfection, with a great choice of locally sourced sea food as well as traditional Kerala speciality curries. We dined in this restaurant on several occasions and were amazed by the quality and value for money. The service from all the staff in the restaurant was to a high standard in terms of knowledge of ... Read more

Before I start with the review of "The Brunton Boatyard", let me first talk about CGH Earth. CGH has an extensive list of properties across Kerala (and a few scattered in other southern states) suiting each palette. Irrespective of the property one chooses, each of the CGH Earth hotel provides a closer perspective of the Kerala architecture, their cuisine and their culture. That said, their reservation staff is more than happy to help define the itinerary for you to make your trip a memorable on... Read more

This hotel has a great waterfront location with lovely classical style rooms with balconies overlooking the waterfront albeit a little dated. The food is good although the lunch menu is very limited as not all their restaurants had opened as the season had just started. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are large and open common areas and the hotel (which was once part of a Boatyard) is in the style of an old English club. Would gladly stay there again.

This is an absolutely gorgeous hotel in every way. The location is stunning with each room, and the beautiful pool area, overlooking the water. We never tired of watching the traffic on the river, from small two-man fishing boats to ferries to massive container vessels. It was especially magical in the early morning light and of course at sunset when the hotel lays on a free cruise around the harbour. You can walk out from the hotel to the famous fishing nets with surrounding market stalls, and ... Read more
