The Sofitel was great itself. The Beach view Bungalow we had was fantastic, the room was comfy and we had a cot for the 18 month old, who thoroughly enjoyed himself. We were about 5 steps from the water which was safer than being over the water as there were no barriers on the bungalows over the water, that would stop our son falling in. The bungalow was well appointed, although we did have a couple of issues with the card key entry a couple of times, that needed a replacement from the recepti... Read more

On first impressions everything looks idyllic. Flower garlands and a drink to welcome you. The rooms are large with a giant bed in the centre of the room big enough to hold four! The bathroom is also large with an en suite toilet and shower, no bath. There is a separate cloakroom and a day bed. The room has just about everything you need including, tv, iron and board, safe and best of all a free mini bar which is restocked daily. There are two main restaurants, Pure and the K. The K you can b... Read more

We spent our honeymoon here in an over water bungalow and are now planning our return visit for our 1st Anniversary. The location is stunning, the people are all very helpful and polite. The bungalow suited us perfectly, cleaned every morning while we were at breakfast. We order room service nearly every day around lunch time and the speed and service was excellent. The restaurants provide an excellent choice of options, from full meals to light snacks in the bar. Even when the bar ran out of ... Read more

I stayed 3 nights in a Garden View Bungalow No.430. The room is spacious and well decorated, but a little dated. The maintenance is done, but eyes on details need to be improved (curtains & sliding doors condition). The plus was the free refilling minibar and the ice machine close to the rooms. The beach in front of the hotel has clear calm water.

My wife and I are not typical of the visitors to the Sofitel Ia Ora. This is the third year in a row that we have stayed, and we go there uniquely to snorkel the reef in the magnificent lagoon that fronts the hotel. The setting, across from Tahiti Island, is spectacular. The staff are welcoming and, although no doubt under stress during the busy holiday season, get their work done with grace and efficiency. The less expensive deluxe garden bungalows that we stay in are comfortable and well maint... Read more

With a 5 star resort like this you would expect much better. We arrived in the evening and discovered the a la carte restaurant was fully booked but encouraged to go to the buffet restaurant. The food was very poor. Over cooked dishes, some that had been stewing for hours, even the cold dishes were not appetising. And the worst aspect - very expensive. Avoid this option - it would have got zero stars if possible.

Bad experience in our honeymoon. A woman called ULLA who is an employee in this hotel, sell us one of the most expensive tour to visit the island (35000XPF), but it wasn‚??t a private luxury tour as she promised because she called her colleage ‚??Papa Albert ‚?? an old man and not very good driver, who made us waste our time in his old and seedy pickup. Furthermore we missed some of the main spots in the island. No receip was given to us. We made a complaint and we are still waiting an answer f... Read more

Welcome, service and amenities are excellent. Was treated like royalty. Lagoon and beach stunningly beautiful- tranquil aqua water. Loved my bungalow on the lagoon. Endless mini bar (free), air conditioning and the most comfortable kingsize bed. Turn down service. Restaurant Pure and Vue Bar menus with a focus on delicious seafood. Loved Moorea, loved the Sofitel but loved the Tahitians even more-welcoming, happy and genuine. This holiday was a dream come true. Thankyou to all at the Sofitel who... Read more

After doing extensive research and visiting the other hotels, I can assure you the Sofitel Moorea is the beat resort on the island! First of all the lagoon is perfect. It has amazing snorkeling and crystal clear blue waters. The views are breathtaking and you can get lost watching the sunsets. The staff is very friendly and you are always greeted with an ‚??ia orana!‚?? The rooms can use some upgrades. We stays in an overwater bungalow which, in my opinion, is the only way to go!
